He renamed it Jens Jensen Enterprises Inc., changed its location from Bellevue to Lakewood (the original name) and continued manufacturing lumber until 1973 when it merged with another logging company to form Olympic Logging Corporation. Today six miles east of downtown Lakewood sits Olympic Industries LLC's corporate headquarters complete with an indoor pool, fitness center and 30-acre park that includes a cricket ground as well as playgrounds for children aged 6 through 12 years old Lakewood's rich history begins with its incorporation as a village on November 3rd 1908 by vote of those living within its borders: 300 citizens voting against incorporation because they desired instead an incorporated municipality like those located nearest Seattle proper along Puget Sound's water frontage On January 14th 1909 Village application was accepted giving residents enough time to plan their lives within this new community before it would become effective on February 1st 1909 . The first pastor preached sermons from his house starting December 31st 1909 until services started inside First Presbyterian Church located at 511 Main Street (now called 205 N Harbor Way). Within two years after incorporation there were already plans being made for businesses such as grocery stores whore trade goods brought downriver by barge then carted upriver on wagons or horse teams; schools; churches; hospitals etcetera all built without any government funding or assistance only due largely because people decided this was their community not some far away 'muddy little Station'

Lakewood is a small town in Lewis County, Washington, United States. The population was 561 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The community was founded in 1879 as a result of land grant from the Washington Territory to John James Audubon and his son, James Audubon II. On July 20, 1886, Lakewood's first post office opened with mail from Tacoma. At that time it was located on the east side of what is now Lakewood Drive. The name "Lakewood" came about because there were several clearings in the area for waterfowl and other game animals to resting or watering during long trips across Elliott Bay. The first school in Lakewood was built on land donated by Mrs. Averill Dickinson and Mrs. Sallie Yarbrough in 1881-82; it operated until 1903 when a new school building was constructed using funds provided by Mr. Wm Houlihan and others who had purchased some of Audubon's hunting property around milepost 6 on Highway 99 (now Snohomish County Road 9). In 1899 an addition to this original school building (dedicated to Revd Drs JF Whitehurst & Nils Petersen) served as a Methodist church until 1954 when it burned down; also destroyed were many of the village's early records which may have been lost in one of these fires or destroyed by Indians during the Black Hawk War (1858-1860). In 1902–03 an unsuccessful effort was made to get an electric light plant established in Lakewood but this project died due to lack of funding; however, lights did eventually come on at night through private donations beginning in 1917 after work started on two public power plants near Everett that year by George Stephenson Jr., then superintendent of Public Utilities for King County under then governor Agnes Murray Thompson. From 1925 until 1978 all village residents had electricity eithergenerated by battery power or coming through lines extending into neighboring townships such as Lynnview and Cheney before being turned over to viewers at various hours each day during daylight hours via wire feeders running parallel along Interurban Lines 1&2 northward from downtownSeattle into each township thence southward into Pullman via Stevens Creek valley westwardly into Thurston county outside Olympia; later replaced with diesel generators supplemented by solar energy beginning circa 2009 following Federal mandate that local governments must generate 50% renewables within 10 years .
