By 1888, Goodrich had acquired rights to manufacturebinoculars domestically and exported them across America. Goodrich's son, George Goodrich, continued operations until his death in 1942. During World War II, Goodrich's company produced more than 2 million pairs of binoculars for military use alone! Lake Forest Park is a city in Seattle County, Washington, United States. The population was 36,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bellevue–Everett metropolitan area and is bordered by Lake Washington to the south, Mount Rainier National Park to the north, and Everett to the east. The first permanent settler in what would become Lake Forest Park was James K. Polk who arrived on horseback late in 1851 from Illinois. Polk founded a homestead on government land near present day Mapleview Heights Drive and Interstate 5th Avenue. In 1854 he married Emma Smith (1815-1860), daughter of Squanto and wife of Moses Eaton of Auburn, Washington Territory. They had two children: James K., Sr., who became director of Seattle's Department of Public Works in 1855; and Julia A., who became an actress in New York City before moving back East to marry John Prentice Coffin (1822-1910) on October 15, 1857 at Saint Hyacinthe Church in Bellevue. In 1862 US Senator David Davis (R-Alaska) purchased 640 acres within what would become Lake Forest Park from developer George Stephenson for $1 million dollars cash plus bonds that would pay off over 60% when the park was created as part of his vision for "a new town site upon which may be built one or more thousand homes". This project would later come to be known as "the land boom" because so much land was being sold that there wasn't enough room for everyone else on it; this also caused friction between developers and residents because some wanted more housing while others desired open space. One development during this time was The Lakeside School which served students from early childhood until high school graduation; following World War II it became a branch of King's College[2]. Other developing areas included Northwest High School which opened its doors in 1959,[3] Pioneer Square[4], Northgate Mall[5], around now Daybreak Drive NW,[6] Silverlake Boulevard SW,[7][8] WAVE Field[9][10], UW–Seattle campus,[11][12] Ballard neighborhood[13][14],[15], Evergreen Way NE [16],[17]), Stuyvesant Town Center/Bellevue neighbourhood[18],[19], South Lake Union neighbourhood[20], Yesterdays Neighborhoods project [21],[22],[23]; along with many small businesses including water treatment plants operated by Puget Sound Water District No 9 FCWDD - Phase III Open Water Treatment Plant.[24] A new hospital named Harborview Medical Center opened its doors way back then too but didn't have much impact until after 9/11 when it becoming America's first full service trauma center providing care exclusively to military personnel wounded or killed abroad In 1975 voters passed a bond referendum authorizing annexation by King County into Seattle County without plebiscite 3 years later they did another referendum giving themselves more power over their own municipality by banning marketing campaigns against annexation

The city was founded in 1881 by men from Seattle as a small community on the shores of Lake Washington. It grew rapidly during the late 19th century and early 20th century with construction of railroads and other industrial development, until it peaked in population around 1920. However, during World War II the city lost its importance to Seattle due to the large military presence in the area. Salt Lake City became the city's largest resident after it annexation by Lake Forest Park in 1949. In recent years, growth has been gradual but steady as new housing developments have begun to populate the area outside of downtown; however, lakefront retail and dining remains an important part of downtown life despite gentrification efforts by developers.
