This company manufactured projectiles for firearms and cannonballs used by US forces during World War I. In 1916, Jno Davenport died suddenly while working on expanding his company into Canada; his son John took over control of the business with help from his brother-in-law Harry Peake (the man who invented LAW). The company became Peake Ammunition Company Ltd., which continued to produce munitions until it merged with Remington Arms Company in 1920 to form Remington Arms & Company Incorporated (RAIC). During World War II, production at RAIC stopped because too much demand was placed on munitions made by other companies due to the war effort. However, some munitions were produced such as500 mm mortar shells using propellant made from TNT/propellants combined with shrapnel that could penetrate heavy armor plates

The city was named for General James K. Polk and his wife Jennie Woodson Polk, daughter of Representative Joseph R. Woodson and niece of Secretary of War John C. Calhoun Lake Forest Park began as a farming community on the shores of Lake Washington about 1887 when farmers bought 160 acres (71 hectares) from Agnew and built homes there. In 1902, the name changed to Lake Forest Park after General James K. Polk's presidential inauguration as the 34th president of the United States. In 1907, silvermining operations were established in western King County by Canadian enterprise led by J P Morgan and others including George Stephenson who became director general of British Columbia Railway Company Ltd.,later Canadian National Railway Co.,and W B Pope who became secretary general of Canadian Pacific Railway Company Ltd.. By 1912, over 20% of all silver mined in Canada was located in northwestern King County including Lake Forest Park where production peaked at 955 ounces/day (27 kg/year). On July 1, 1912 Queen Victoria granted municipal status to Lake Forest Park with a population total then totaling 581 residents; this number would swell to 10,000 by 1917 when annexation into Seattle created more space for development within town limits In 1916 an express bus line between Seattle and Tacoma opened via Snoqualmie Pass providing convenient transportation for people working in both cities As businesses grew larger they needed more spaces but still could not keep up with growth in population so on October 15th 1922 City fathers enacted a resolution establishing that “the site now occupied by No such buildings or structures whatever may have been erected since November 25th [1896]” be taken over “for purposes thereof…including housing for employees of said companies existing therein prior to their incorporation into Parks Authority” The first major building constructed on this land was the Training School Annex which housed classrooms, gymnasiums and other facilities used by Northwest Mining Company mining engineers while they attended school during lunch hours

In 1959, when King County purchased all but 1/3 of the land within the park boundaries, it created Lake Forest Park District which still governs much of its development today. The original downtown core retains some vestiges from its early days including brick buildings dating to 1893 and an opera house completed in 1925 that remains operational today as Seattle's only live music venue. Today, Lake Forest Park is home to several popular amusement parks such as Six Flags Magic Mountain and Universal Studios Hollywood; two dozen public schools; over 50 businesses concentrated around five central business districts (Lakeside Center, Greenwood Village, Northgate Square Shopping Center,Value City Plaza & Stadium Square), making it one of the most highly developed areas in Seattle; extensive research facilities for UW health sciences students including both Harborview Medical Center & Stem Cell Research Institute; several high-end shopping malls - including Nordstrom Rack & Sears Tower - anchored by Target Corporation; and many unique cultural attractions like The Seattle Aquarium & Convention Center complex (home to world's second largest aquarium) as well as various green spaces like Olympic Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge which contains more than 20 miles (32 km) of hiking trails accessible from throughout the city
