Lacey is a census-designated place (CDP) in King County, Washington. The population was 5,812 at the 2010 census. Lacey is located on the eastern edge of the Yakima Valley and adjoining portions of Stevens County. The first Europeans to visit Lacey were fur traders who traveled through the area in 1813 and 1814. In 1847, a post office was established at Lacey, and by 1865 it had become a town. On July 15, 1907, Lacey's incorporation as a village was granted by Washington Territory authorities. As of the census of 2010, there were 5,812 people residing in Lacey CDP.
