In 2012, Olympia Sports & Outdoors donated a shirt to honor fallen police officer Sean Smithson who was killed during Operation Neptune’s Spear while conducting security patrols outside of Job Corps World Headquarters in downtown Olympia. This event marked the first time that firearms were ever worn on duty within Olympia City limits since they became part of law enforcement history in 1972!

The first firearms in Kirkland, Washington were rifles and shotguns. The first gun shop in the town was founded by a man named John W. Copley in 1892. In 1905, an armory was opened in the town and it became one of the most popular guns shops in the area. The town also saw the introduction of handguns in 1912. In 1916, Kirkland had its own police department and on July 4th of that year, a parade featuring local firearms arrived at Town Hall to celebrate the occasion.
Kirkland is a town in the state of Washington, United States. The population was 9,836 at the 2010 census. It is located on Interstate 5 between Seattle and Bellevue. Kirkland is home to Microsoft's Redmond campus and Boeing's Everett factory. The name "Kirkland" was given by Captain James Cook in 1792 when he explored the area while travelling along what is now Interstate 5. The first European resident in the area was José de Armas y Mena, who built a cabin near present-day Kirkland on July 26, 1792. A group of Spanish traders also moved into the area around this time; they called it La Plata (meaning "the Plateau"). In 1851, gold was found near present-day Puget Sound and settlers began moving into the region; about 100 people moved to what is now Kirkland from Olympia and Bainbridge Island during that year. By 1870, there were over 1,000 residents living in Kirkland. In 1881, an act of Congress designated the towns of Bellevue and Redmond as separate jurisdictions within Washington; Bellevue became part of Seattle while Redmond became part of Tacoma. On February 14, 1907, a fire destroyed most of downtown Bellevue; only a few stores remained standing after firefighters used bulldozers to clear away buildings seventy years later. That same day saw the opening of Microsoft's first office building – 15th & SE Vista – which still stands today as one of King County’s largest commercial complexes with more than 2 million square feet (1002 m2) leased space currently under development across eleven floors or more! On November 8th 1909 markers were placed at various locations throughout central Kirkland recognizing early pioneers such as Mrs Katherine Dunham (died 1886), Jno Henson (1838-1911), Geo Mears (1850-1928), Chas Sutherby (1868-1948), Lillie Copley Howe (1870-1945). All seven individuals are honored with plaques at various sites throughout town including: Pinnacle Bank Building/Livery stable frontage corner 16th Ave NE & NNW Corner Paulding St./First Presbyterian Church side lot corner Second Ave NE & WSW corner McClintock Rd./Storch Mill Road/Housing project roadway off Service Rd., Headquarters for Radio Corporation Of America across from Macy’s
