Kennewick is a small town in Richland County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. Kennewick is the county seat of Richland County. It lies on the banks of the Wenatchee River and is adjacent to the cities of Seattle and Bellevue. The first permanent settler in what would become Kennewick was George Wigglesworth in 1853. By 1861, all of present-day Kennewick had been annexed by Wenatchee County. The post office at Kennewick was established on July 13, 1872, and was first called "Wenatchee". At that time it served only as a point of delivery for mail from Seattle to other parts of the county. In 1886, a new post office building was erected on Main Street; this property still stands today as part of the downtown area of Kennewick. In 1907, an electric light system was installed in town; this allowed for night life and commerce that would not have otherwise been possible without lights during those days. A major development occured during World War II when local farmers were able to provide food for troops stationed nearby in order to support their war efforts while they were away from home. With increased access to good farmland following World War II, more people began moving into Kennewick and its surrounding areas Since then many new businesses have opened up including two large grocery stores (JBS/Aurora Food & Pharmacy and Safeway) as well as several restaurants such as Primanti Brothers Italian Restaurant and Native American Casino Resort which has brought much economic growth to the town dating back over twenty years Now with advances in technology such as cell phone service being available almost everywhere there are now more opportunities for work than ever before making Kennewick one of most vibrant communities around . However some challenges remain such as infrastructure needs which continue to be addressed through various initiatives like $1 million dollar grant from Microsoft Corporation given towards developing a smart city initiative which will see more use of advanced technology within town limits

In 1907, French physicist Louis Poincaré designed and built the world’s first true periscope telescopic microscope which he called the Orthoscope (from Greek τέκνος meaning shoulder or arm) after himself! In 1948, Russian scientists Nikolai Frolov and Vitaliy Chirikov developed interchangeable eyeglasses using concepts from holography which allowed them to view photosynthetic light emission from leaves as if they were present in situ! This led to new research into binocular technology which has since made great strides!

Kennewick is a small town in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 993 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma metropolitan area. Kennewick has been inhabited by the same people for centuries and today retains many of the cultural features and traditions that have made it an important part of American history. The first permanent settler in what is now Kennewick was James A. Kelly, who founded a log cabin in 1855 on land he had acquired from Chief Seattle. Kelly's wife, Mary Hinson, also lived there for some time before moving to their rancho (farmstead) near Olympia. In 1859 a group of 8 men led by John Wesley Powell set out from Kalama on horseback to prospect for gold along the newly discovered Klondike River system. On July 24 they reached what is now Kennewick Creek and camped near its confluence with Baker Lake; they named their new settlement after George Vancouver, British Columbia's first Superintendent of Indian Affairs and one of the crew on HMS "Discovery" when he explored Alaska in 1792-95. The name stuck and became better known as Kennewick over time; however, it did not become an official town until 1959 when it joined Thurston County under statehood. The discovery of oil shale in eastern Washington brought about rapid growth in industry around Kennewick; this development helped contribute to increased wealth and social prominence for the community over time. Among these industries were logging, farming, manufacturing, transportation/logistics, services such as architecture/engineering/consulting/lawsuits and real estate development (most notably around Interstate 5). The community experienced significant economic decline beginning in the 1990s as declining production prices resulted in decreased demand for goods exported from KennEWICK AND THE KENNEWICK AREA IN GENERAL; this included both primary aluminum production at Alcoa’s old plant (now Mount Rainier National Park) as well as other leading local companies whose businesses used local resources such as coal mining or phosphate processing sites west of I-5 Since 2000 however there has been renewed focus on revitalization efforts including job creation through various business ventures within existing industries The history of Kennewick goes back more than 460 years when early residents built log cabins along banks of creeks that flow into Puget Sound
Kennewick was founded in 1853 as the town of Kennewick on the east side of what is now Yakima River. The town was named for Colonel George Washington Kennicott, a U.S. Army officer who served in the Mexican-American War and then became an official surveyor for Yakima County. In 1861, when Washington statehood was granted, Kennewick became the second capital of the new state. The first capital was Seattle.
