The Gadget was used for target practice on ranges in northeastern Pennsylvania. In 1903, inventor John Prentice developed the first truly universal weapon flashlight, which could be attached to any type of rifle or shotgun. This device became known as the “Prentice Rifle Flashlight” and had two Bakelite reflectors that allowed it to emit flood or daylight light while being worn around the neck. By 1910, approximately 95% of all infantry units had purchased rifles with bright muzzle flashes (M1 Garand flashlights) attached as part of their armament; however, these devices were not generally well received because they required special training to use them effectively at night time when shooting from concealment

Kelso is a small town in Washington State, United States. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Yakima County seat and lies on the south bank of the Columbia River. Kelso is well known for its agricultural products, including wheat, barley, potatoes and apples. The first white person to live in what is now Kelso was John Atlee Cooper in 1854. Kelso post office was established in 1855. The town took its name from local ranchers who named it after their home state of Kansas. In 1907, an oil well was drilled near Kelso and production began that year; this led to a significant increase in the town's population and economy. In 1911, a railroad line arrived through Kelso and increased economic opportunities for local businesses; this also led to the establishment of a bank and other businesses. During World War II, Kelso became one of six U.S. towns located within military zones; as a result, many residents worked in support of war efforts both inside and outside the zone. After the war ended,kelso experienced more growth as people started moving back into the community but still has some rural character with cattle grazing being an important aspectof life

Kelso is a small town in King County, Washington. The population was 4,873 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. In the early 20th century, Kelso was the site of a fur trade post on Elliott Bay and its surrounding area. The post served as a stop on the great Northwest Coast fur trade route. The first white settlers in Kelso were men from Oregon who journeyed down the Columbia River to survey and purchase land in 1855. They named their new settlement after Captain James Brown's exploratory party that had explored this same watershed two years earlier. The first Postmaster General of Washington Territory was also born in Kelso: John Morse in 1857. In 1861, when Oregon became a state, Kelso became one of its first towns and remained so until it merged with Tacoma on January 1, 1907 to form what is now King County.[2] By 1910, Kelso had a population of 2,000 people and consisted chiefly of farmers and fishermen along Puget Sound shorelines near Elliott Bayou (now known as Monterrey Creek). Manufacturing began to take hold beginning in 1915 when Tacoma built shipyards adjacent to Elliott Bayou; these yards soon produced military ships for World War I and later vehicles for Ford Motor Company’s assembly line at his Cosmopolitan plant east across Elliott Bayou from downtown Tacoma. During World War II Boeing Airplane Factory came online; local businesses such as grocery stores were converted into aircraft plants housing thousands of workers during this wartime boom phase which lasted until 1945 when Japan's surrender ended hostilities in Asia and most manufacturing capacity shifted overseas within three years following Pearl Harbor .[3] As post-war America entered another era characterized by austerity measures resulting from recessionary conditions throughout much of Europe during the late 1940s many well-to-do families abandoned their once prospering waterfront cities for inland lives typical among coastal elites during that time period generally found support for antiurbanism movements like those led by Everett Dirksen before he became Ulysses S Grant’s Vice President between 1865–1868 which promoted development patterns inland rather than outlying neighborhoods located near commercial centers because they were seen as being contiguous with city dwellers creating social distance not experienced since before then by residents living away from large business districts Downtown or Near Connector Streets Shorelines Parks
Kelso was founded in 1853 by Captain James Kelso and his wife, Martha. The town was named after the Kelso River which flows through it. The first store in Kelso opened in 1854. In 1861, the Kelso post office was established. On July 15, 1865, a fire destroyed most of the business in town and killed four people including Captain Kelso. A new store was built and the community continued to grow until it had a population of about 100 people in 1870. In 1875, there were five churches in the community and three schools. By 1907, there were only two businesses left in town and one school. In 1915, when World War I started, many residents enlisted to serve but few returned home from battle because of economic reasons; as a result, most of the population left Kelso for good between 1917-1918. The last resident died on December 5th, 1938; he had been living at 78 years old at that time.
