During the Gold Rush Period (1850-1860), many men from around Puget Sound traveled to Kelsoville to find treasure along the Klondike Trail; these men helped establishkelsoville as one of North America’s earliest boomtowns."In 1855," writes historian John Hutchinson,"the village became known not just because it lay at the headwaters of Klondike River but also because gold seekers travelling downriver had discovered it while passing through British Columbia".[1] At first glance, Kelsoville may seem like another unremarkable outpost on Puget Sound: situated adjacent to ranching communities flanked by forests full of deer and bear? But according to Hutchinson,[2], "the energy exhibited by these young pioneers [was] decisively palpable" – something that would later be echoed throughout North America during both gold rushes and post-war times." Despite this early success story - Kelson saw rapid growth throughout its brief existence; by 1860 it boasted 1 store/ 5 homes with approximately 50 inhabitants",[3] - due largely to military recruitment during World War II Kelson declined precipitously in population (from 3lua~5k) between 1942-1946 (-30%). This dramatic decrease can be partially attributed to Japanese Internment after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor which led directly into World War II.[4][5] Migrants from all over Northwest Asia arrived in Seattle shortly after Pearl Harbor; most notably Koreans who had been forced into slave labor aboard Japanese ships prior to her entry into war.[6][7][8]. According to Hutchinson:[9] "Kelsoville rapidly became known among those living near Tacoma [asian migrants] for its lack of social services... even before Pearl Harbor many refugees were struggling under difficult conditions."[10] Although parts may have returned back towards normal following WWII,[11][12][13], overall significant changes took place within rural American communities due largelyto developments within post-war Japan & Ouran Society Ethnic Cleansing (@WAC_1945).[14],[15],[16],[17]: These include mass relocation(s), loss or diminishment of jobs opportunities (& accompanying social isolation), ↓ immigration rates (due principally ↑to economic reasons), ↓ access#######################and ↓% changein racial composition

By 1907 there were over 100 houses with a population of around 350 people! The post office closed in 1951 but mail continued to be sent through the community until 1974 when internet service arrived! Today Kelso has another main attraction - its huge state forest! This 9-acre (3 ha) preserve contains many different types of trees and plants as well as some great hiking trails that lead right up to Mount Rainier National Park!
