After World War II ended in 1945, many local businesses closed due to postwar competition from larger cities such as Seattle and Tacoma. However, new businesses began to reopen shortly afterwards; most notably Pacific Northwest Paper Company which was once headquartered in Issaquah but now operates out of Renton outside of Seattle proper. A major event that took place while the city was experiencing its rapid growth was the opening of Interstate 5 on November 3rd 1956 which created much traffic congestion around downtown areas; however this did not stop downtown businesses from starting up again quickly despite increased traffic volumes caused by I-5 accessions southbound from Puget Sound crossings just north of DowntownSeattle proper into Issaquah Creek via ramps onto I-405 opposite South Lake Union Drive - continuing until about 1990 when these ramps were replaced by an interchange with I-405 itself near CenturyLink Field between Queen Anne Way NW & Evergreen Road NE - creating another major bottleneck for drivers within DowntownSeattle proper becoming once again increasingly difficult or impossible for people other than those working within DowntownSeattle proper to get around without taking large road trips out into Puget Sound or riding buses/trucks all day long! This situation has gradually been changing over time with more recent developments such as light rail service along I-405 which have made it possible for people living within DowntownSeattle proper to commute easily outside their neighbourhoods even though they still experience some significant levels of traffic congestion; however there remains still a significant amountof traffic volume across all routes inside DowntownSeattle proper causing havoc both during morning rush hours when things are busiest before school lets out and evening rush hours when everyone has already left work but school isstill open so there’s still plentyof time for cars to go around!
