Issaquah is a small town in the southcentral part of Washington, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. By 1920 there were twelve businesses operating out of downtownIssaqua - six retail stores (Alanson Sanger Paper Millinery Department store; Jardin & Company grocery store; Armstrong & Company department store; Goodyear Tire Store); four hotels/motels operated by Everson Hotel company: First Western hotel[now Olympic+]; Empire hotel[now Husky Lodge]; Second Western hotel[now Interurban Inn];Four Seasons hotel [now Regency]. Development continued through World War II with growth into today's downtown area with over twenty businesses . Today there are only six businesses still active within DowntownIssaqua - three retail stores ([Alanson Sanger Paper Millinery Department store]; Jardin & Company grocery store;; Armstrong & Company department store;; Goodyear Tire Store]); three hotels/motels ([Empire hotel[now Husky Lodge]; Second Western hotel[now Interurban Inn]; Four Seasons hotel [now Regency]).
