Additionally there are several smaller colleges and universities located throughout the city limits: Northwest Nazareth School District's Cheney Hall Campus brings students from Everett toCtrl+F "UniversityDistrictSchools" to find its list of campuses as well as satellite campuses in Bellevue/Tacoma/Snoqualmie Valley etc.-- all attended by students attending nearby High Schools--and Eastern Washington University's Yakima Valley campus near Lake Union. As well there are numerous small businesses that cater to residents within Federal Way boundaries such as pet supply stores, grocery stores, dentist offices etc.-- making it an ideal location for exploring what this great city has to offer!

Federal Way is a town in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 7,836 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The town had been established as a small community on the edge of Puget Sound by early pioneers in 1852. The first post office in Federal Way was opened in October 1852. The name honored General George Washington and his military band "The Mounted Dragoons." By 1865, Federal Way had grown to about 350 people and consisted of only a few buildings along State Street and two tiny farms on the shores of Lake Washington. In 1872, Congress passed an act ordering all towns east of Tacoma to become incorporated into what would become Thurston County. This Act created much controversy because it gave land east of Interstate 5 to local farmers while depriveing Seattleites of their own cityhood. In response, many citizens formed the "West Side Improvement Society" to lobby for annexation into Seattle and fight against incorporation into Thurston County. Ultimately, incorporation happened anyway and Federal Way became a separate municipality with its own government in 1874. During World War II, Federal Way served as one of the largest airfields within Boeing's facilities located outside Seattle proper; it also produced munitions for Boeing's atomic weapons program atmel plant nearby on campus (now known as Evergreen). After the war ended, federal law required that all large military installations must give back acreage taken from adjacent communities so that those with smaller populations could have some breathing room; this requirement led toFederal Way becoming one of Seattle's most heavily developed areas postwar with more than 1 million residents by 1970s
The first white people to arrive in Washington were the British in 1792. The area that is now Federal Way was part of King George’s County, Virginia, and was considered a strategically important spot because of its location on the Potomac River. The land around Federal Way was taken over by the U.S. government in 1846 as part of the Louisiana Purchase. Federally owned land became available for settlement after Washington State became a state in 1889.
