In 1883, the first federally licensed holster manufacturer in Washington was opened in Federal Way. The company was founded by John A. Holster and his brother-in-law, George B. Hagerty. The brothers manufactured holsters for the military and law enforcement officers until 1911 when they merged with John J. Herrington & Company to form the Herrington Holsters Corporation. In 1915, the name was changed to Herrington Holsters, Incorporated and in 1937, it became a subsidiary of Colt Firearms Corporation. In 1958, Colt Firearms Corporation merged with Remington Arms Company to form Remington-Marlin Company which continued production of handguns under the Remington name until 1991 when it too merged into American Outdoor Brands corporation.
Federal Way is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 24,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. Federal Way is located on Interstate 5 and has a large shopping and dining district as well as a number of high-end businesses. The first people to live in Federal Way were the Duwamish Tribe who arrived in 1846 from what is now Tacoma. The city was named for General John Fenton Washington who was military governor of Puget Sound during the War of 1812. After becoming an incorporated town in 1903, federal government began to leave Federal Way more and more until it merged with Seattle on January 1, 1996 under then-Mayor Norm Rice's effort to consolidate all city services into one place within Mayor Ed Murray's new elected government structure known as "One City." Today there are over 21 restaurants/cafes open for business within walking distance of every resident; hotels including Regency Ballroom & Pacific Rim Hotel offer free self parking; over 123 retail stores that carry everything from groceries to apparel and accessories; over 100 service companies providing everything from home repairs to lawn care; 22 parks which include Regency Park (a general public park), Discovery Park (an urban park), Ballard Park (a greenspace adjacent to Ballard Mall),Federal Way Center (home plate field of Seahawks baseball team) and SeaTac Airport (worlds first commercial airport). There are also several dozen small businesses unrelated to any specific industry that provide goods and services such as daycare, hair stylist, pet groomer etc., some inside or outside of malls whereymountains dot many streetside blocks throughout downtownFederal way

In 1853, the United States Congress passed a bill entitled "An act to establish the government of Washington Territory," and on July 3, 1853, the first U.S. Census was taken in what is now Federal Way. The population of Federal Way at that time was 459 people. In 1861, when Washington state became a state, Federal Way's population increased to 1,573 people. On November 7, 1889, the Territorial Legislature of Washington approved an act establishing the city of Seattle as its capital and giving it authority over all other municipalities within its boundaries. On December 12th of that year, Seattle became a city and Federall Way became its second commercial street after Ballard Street. The area now known as Federal Way was first settled by Native Americans in the late 17th century BC when they traveled downriver from Olympia to trade with the neighboring tribes. By 1843 however, most of this land had been acquired by settlers from various parts of British Columbia and Oregon who cleared it for agriculture or built homes while seeking timber resources nearby. The first European settler in what is now Federal Way was John Waddell who arrived in 1847 through his connection with Captain Lewis Stevens who brought lumber back from sawmills near Portland. At first there were just a few small farms but soon enough entrepreneurs began to build ranches and subdivide these tracts into larger blocks which served as social clubs for their neighbors until annexation by Seattle in 1889 made everything legally binding here! It wasn’t until 1916 that construction finally started on what would become today’s Interstate 5 which ran along almost every block between First Hill Road and Superior Avenue forming one continuous arterial grid running east-west across King County! This freeway revolutionized food transportation throughout King County – before then you had to drive around Surrounding Towns looking for your favorite truck Stop! It also provided access to much needed air traffic during World War II! Federal Way has seen many changes over its long history including becoming center stage for water fluoridation (an early form of environmentalism) during the late 1960s; seeing rapid growth following completion of I-5 in 1976; experiencing some revitalization following reclamation efforts beginning in 1990; and continuing into our current era with steady economic growth thanks to initiatives such as expanded light rail service
The Federal Way Bridge was built in 1922, and it is one of the oldest bridges on Washington. It is also one of the longest bridges in Washington. The bridge is made from a mix of iron and concrete, and it has a width of about 197 feet.
