There has been a long and varied history of firearms in Federal Way, Washington. The first firearms were created by the Spanish in the 16th century, and handguns began to be used by Native Americans in the late 17th century. Firearms were brought over to America by English colonists during the early 18th century, and during that time, pistols became popular as weapons. The first gun made in Washington Territory was an imitation of a French musketeer rifle called the “Alaska”. This weapon was used against Russian Indians near what is now Tacoma, Washington in 1792. It is interesting to note that this weapon was not built specifically for use against Indians; rather it was designed as an imitation of a musketeer rifle that British soldiers had acquired during their campaigns in North America. In 1846, Congress passed legislation authorizing the creation of a Territorial Legislature in Puget Sound Country. As part of this bill, it was decided that each town within territory would have one vote on all matters concerning its own local government. Accordingly, Federal Way was given representation on the new Territorial Legislature from its very beginning! This system continued until territorial status ended with statehood in 1912. At that point, each town within territory had two votes on all matters pertaining to its own local government (except for taxation). However, because Statehood did not give residents any voting power at all outside of their townships (and because Seattle already had a strong municipal government), Federal Way fared relatively poorly among its fellows when it came to developing policies and enacting laws affecting its citizens! Nonetheless, feeling isolated inside his own small town after years of being excluded from decisions important to everyone else around him (outside his township), Mayor John Sorenson lobbied hard for cityhood status for Federal Way shortly after statehood – something which finally happened on December 6th 1912! In fact, even today City Hall still sits atop what once was Federal Way’s original courthouse complex – an ironic reminder of how little progress has been made since then!

Today FederalfederalwayremainsoneofthemostimportantcitiesinWashingtonandhostsseveralthousandsoftheworldsoldestconstruction sites21!
