Today’s mall offers more than 120 retail stores including Sears and JCPenney as well as restaurants and movie theaters. According to the 2010 census, 7,878 people live in Enumclaw; 5% Native American (2% Yakima), 96% white (non-Hispanic), 2% black or African American (0.1%), 0.5% Asian/Pacific Islander (0.1%), 1% other race/ethnicity (0%). Most residents are married with children: 78%. Males make up 50% of Total Population while females make up 50%. Only 3% self-identify as handicapped or low income groups (<$30 per day). There are no schools serving students within walking distance of any homes in this community so students must either take public transportation or drive to their nearest school if they want to attend school outside their home district

In that year, Enumclaw was named after General Nathaniel Banks, commander of the Union army during the Civil War. The community continued to grow during the 1870s and 1880s, thanks to a program instituted by Governor Parley P. Pratt to promote agricultural production in the Yakima Valley. In 1912, Enumclaw received its own post office as part of a larger reorganization of Washington’s postal services. The town has remained an important community throughout its history, and today it holds a population of over 100 residents. The economy of Enumclaw is primarily based on agriculture and ranching; however, there are also some small businesses located within the town itself.
The Enumclaw Indian Reservation was established in 1847, by the US government to provide land for the tribe of Enumclaw. The reservation was located on the eastern side of Puget Sound, just north of modern-day Seattle. The reservation covered an area that stretched from logs along the shore of Lake Washington to the eastern slopes of Mount Rainier. It was home to about 1,500 Indians and served as their primary hunting ground and place of worship. In 1907, Congress passed a bill creating King County, Washington out of part of Tacoma County, which included much of what is now downtown Seattle. The new county had its start with increasing numbers (5 per cent)of Indian residents as a result of policy changes made by then-Gov. John Denny in 1906 based on his estimation that white people would eventually move out and take over most Native American lands in Northwest America. After World War II ended, many Indians were forced onto reservations due to economic hardship or political pressure from nearby white communities. In 1948, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in United States v. California that tribes could not be forcibly removed from their traditional lands without prior consent from Congress – a decision that led to large protests by indigenous people all over North America against this type of treatment.
