His work has been preserved at The Library of Congress where it can be seen today under "Sargent Photographs." Harry Blackstone was an attorney and developer who lived in Ellensburg from 1909 until his death in 1984. He is considered one of the most successful attorneys in Washington State History because he Developed several major real estate projects throughout his career including The Seattle Center which opened in 1962 - now home to Microsoft Research - as well as White Sulphur Springs Resort which opened in 1973 adjacent to Lake Washington National Recreation Area

Ellensburg is a small town in Washington County, located on the Ellensburg River. The population was 1,584 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Yakima Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what is now Ellensburg was Nicholas Latimer in 1847. He and his family made their home on a small parcel of land east of the river when they arrived from England. The first school in town was founded in 1848 by Mrs. Chilton. In 1865, a millrace was constructed to provide water for mills around town and soon enough, businesses flourished along with the population growth. In 1872, entrepreneur John Ladd donated 10 acres (4 hectares) of land upstream from town on the banks of the river to be used as an agricultural reservation for Native Americans known as "The Piegan". This area would come to be known as "Ladd's Forest." In 1901, city voters approved incorporation and named it Ellensburg after Ulysses S. Grant's wife LucyEllenbrook Bogue Grant whom he married that year. It wasn't until 1916 when farmers started planting crops here that electricity became available for lights and streetlights which beganaving life for many residents during those early days before movies or TV became common fixtures hereabouts! In 1969-1970 light bulbs were turned off due to lack of power during construction projects on highways 6 & 7 so much fun back then! Today there are many businesses like health food stores being built here such as A&W Root Beer Company & Pizza Hut all within walking distance making shopping easy if you have an appetite! And did we mention there's also a local baseball team? Yes they're called The Chiefs and they play at Pinnacle Bank Park right down the street from our beautiful courthouse downtown!

This invention is commonly known as the Stephenson Graphic System. The city of Ellensburg, Washington was founded in 1881 by George Washington and his wife Martha. The town was named after the Battle of Ellensburg which occurred on October 17, 1812. It grew rapidly due to its location at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia Rivers. By 1907, the population of Ellensburg had reached 5,500 people. The city experienced a boom during World War I withrapidindustrial growth because of military production and trade. However, during World War II, the city was devastated by an all-out bombing campaign that destroyed most of its buildings and killed over 100 people. In 1948, Ellensburg became an incorporated municipality with a population of 20,000 people. In recent years, business has been slowly returning to the City but there are still many challenges facing it such as affordable housing and poverty.
