ELLENSBURG'S FIRST BUSINESSESwere a grocery store operated by Mrs Fenton who ran it with her husband Moses Fenton until they sold it to Lillie Hardwick who ran it until she died young in 1960 In 1962,Mrs Alma Rasmussen started a hair salon called “Hair Today” which continues operation today under their current name “Hairstyling By Alma Rasmussen” With annexations happening throughout Snohomish County over time - most notably Chelan County ratified annexation on November 1st 1959 - there has never been anything like an official Comprehensive Plan for annexing into Kitsap Countysouthwest side making development difficult or impossible outside cities like Seattle etc... In fact annexation proposals have always been highly partisan politics driven rather than anything resembling good public policymaking.......Until recently however things have started improving though due partly to growth along Interstate 5 just east of town limits prompting businesses owner/managers etc...to take advantageof I5 expansion plans right next door..... [2011] On July 25th 2011 voters approved Measure N through vote tallying 50% plus one against….Measure N authorizes upzoning within township limits creating more housing options withintown limits….. [2012]On November 3rd 2012 voter approval brought about changes to zoning regulations causing many new homes/condos/hotels popping up all around town....Following this approval many developers took advantageof these newly available properties resultingin increased traffic congestion on I5 as well as increasing prices for items like gasoline
