Edmonds experienced significant growth during World War II with many residents moving to Boeing Field for work on production plants or joining military service overseas; however, much of this growth ended following the war with few new residences being built in either town center since most people returned home by way of housing projects developed along I-5 outside of town limits during postwar suburbanization which accelerated around 1970s while jobs dried up at Boeing Field due to automation technologies etc.. The last resident moved out of East Edmonds circa 2000 according to current population counts though some houses may still be standing vacant... Today there are a few small businesses that have taken root around Naito Parkway looking forward to seeing more development coming soon but overall things seem pretty stagnant...
