Cheney is a small town in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of Cheney Lake. The community is part of the Seattle–Tacoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first knife known to have been made in Cheney was an 8-inch (20 cm) sliver of obsidian found near the town in 1892. Cheney's first shop was built in 1903 and operated by Mrs. Fenton with help from her husband John Fenton Sr. One of local men, Orville Kemble, began making knives in Cheney when he opened his business in 1933 and continued until his death in 1974. In 1942, two brothers Emmet and Harold Olson opened a tool store next door to Orville Kemble's store and continued producing quality knives until their own deaths in 1984 and 1988respectively. The early days of Cheney Knife making were filled with hard work as many people struggled to survive off what they grew or raised themselves. Many women worked long hours cleaning tools or helping to make copies of blades that were being produced elsewhere for export back home; some even used their earnings to buy their own knives! As time went on however there became more opportunities for women to get involved with the knife industry through starting their own businesses including Mrs. Fenton’s widow Gayle’s Knife Shop which still exists today (since 2015), as well as other startups over time such as Linda Nye’s Knife Workshops which continue operations today also serving Cheney residents since 1978

He also played a significant role in the decision not to pursue arms control treaties with Russia and China which led to their military expansionism. In 1980-1981 Cheney was elected Vice President of the United States after running as a Republican. During his administration he made important decisions such as increasing defense spending while reducing government regulation; deregulation of energy industries; and increased support for Israel in its fight against Arab nations. In 1990-1991 he joined George H.W. Bush’s cabinet as Director of Naval Warfare Command (DOD). After leaving DOD in 1995 he moved back into politics by becoming Chairman and CEO of Halliburton Corporation

In 2002, Cheney was re-elected to his second term as Representative from Wyoming and served until 2006 when he resigned due to health concerns related to ageism within the American political system
