Centralia is a city in King County, Washington, United States. Centralia was founded on January 1, 1881 by the merger of two towns: Centralia and North Bend. The population was 24,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of theSeattle metropolitan area. The original name for Centralia was "Aurora". It changed to "Centralia" in 1881 because it was chosen as the new site for the new Puget Sound Ferry Terminal, which would eventually become one of Seattle's most important commercial areas. In 1906, when Spokane Falls became a consolidated city with Centralia, both cities acquired their own post offices and police departments; Spokane Falls had earlier amalgamated with Whatcom County in 1889. However, despite this separation of municipal services and overlapping mailing addresses across two jurisdictions (and until 1907 even within their own town), both Centralia and Spokane Falls sustained high levels of social intercourse and cultural interchange due to their close proximity – Aurora being just east of what is now North Bend while Spokane Falls stretched north to include all or parts of central King County. By 1916 there were 3 businesses in Aurora that handled postal mail only- 2 druggists' stores and one general store- while 11 businesses served Spokane Falls with mail but only 2 druggists' stores survived into the 21st century serving Centralia instead. The first streetcar service ran between Aurora and Spokane Falls on October 20th 1870 using horses pulled by three mules; it operated every day except Sundays from then until 1903 when cars began running alternately between Aurora & Tacoma each way starting on May 1st 1903 until electrification took over operations on December 12th 1912 making Centralia an exclusively streetcar town! Another early transportation innovation for this region was streetcars which ran along what are now W Lovell Boulevard & 6th Ave NW from 1896-1911 before running down 5th Ave SE they stopped at Alley Way SW near Hallmark Cards factory from 1911-1920 before continuing south along today's Broadway Avenue NE to connect with 4th Ave NE where they turned around back onto W Lovell Boulevard

This type of flashlight was very helpful during combat because it allowed soldiers to see in darkness while hunting or fighting. Weapon flashlights began to be developed more systematically around 1925 when Lieutenant Theodore Roosevelt designed his TR3A hand-held Weapon Flashlight which included both an OLED display screen as well as two white LEDs to illuminate areas at night while worn on either arm. This device became very important during World War II because it allowed troops to see in darkness without being silhouetted against trees or buildings

The name of the town is from an early Indian name for the area where it now stands, Kaima'yaka. The post office was established in 1857 and has been in operation since then. The population of Centralia was 2,541 as of 2000. The economy of Centralia is based largely on agriculture and manufacturing. There are a few businesses that provide services to the community, such as both public health clinics and a library. In recent years, Centralia has seen some redevelopment including construction of new housing and businesses around the square that includes Main Street and Seymour Avenue. This redevelopment has increased tourism to Centralia which influxes money into the local economy. In addition to its role as a central point for transportation within King County, Centralia also features several attractions which include a playground, outdoor pool/spa, library, art museum, and cultural center.

The first store in Centralia opened its doors on May 3, 1861. The town became a village on November 16, 1865 when it had a population of 553 residents. In 1876 the federal government created King County and Centralia as part of that county's eastern border with Seattle Territory. On February 26, 1879 the name change toCentralia when it annexed part of the city of Spokane Valley from Spokane County. In 1916 Centralia annexes parts of both Whitman and Bothell counties fromKing County to form new central county boundaries. On January 2, 2018, King County voters passed a resolution recognizing February 8th as National Indian Day in order to commemorate Native American culture and history in Centralia and throughout Washington state
