In 1974–75 mayor John Browne ordered construction of a new City Hall which began later that year and finished two years later; this building became home to City Council meetings until 2000 when they moved into their current location on First Street NW. CentralIA has been largely successful in maintaining its high quality of life despite difficult economic times over recent decades; according to 2007 rankings by Forbes magazine, CentralIA ranked third out of 50 US cities with a median household income above $100K per year. These rankings are based on factors such as crime rates (which have decreased dramatically since 2000), job opportunities (which have not changed much since then), public infrastructure (including libraries, parks and schools), quality of life (including walkability), education opportunities etc.; overall qualities which contribute towards entrepreneurial potential and success in contemporary society. Despite these positive trends, many residents continue to feel concerned about possible future changes or problems within their community including gentrification (a trend where wealthier individuals move into areas with lower crime rates while leaving poorer neighbourhoods behind), rising housing prices etc.; these fears are often addressed through various forms of outreach or engagement strategies available within the community itself including communication campaigns targeting specific demographics or neighborhoods etc., along with regular neighborhood meetings which provide residents an opportunity to share concerns directly with elected officials
