Since the early 1800s, Camas residents have worn firearms t-shirts to identify themselves and support Second Amendment rights. In 1874, the Washington Territorial Legislature authorized the sale of handguns in Camas. The Gun Club of Camas was organized in 1875 and began sales of pistols to members. In 1898, a local paper reported that “the whole town is Armsmad” as people in Camas stocked up on rifles and shotguns. In 1907, an ordinance regulating the possession of firearms was passed by theCamas City Council. It prohibited any person from possessing or carrying a handgun without first obtaining a city permit from police headquarters. The Gun Club of Camas continued to sell firearms until 1926 when it became an illegal organization due to state law changes affecting gun ownership. As firearm regulation changed throughout Washington during the 1920s and 1930s, so did clothing associated with firearm ownership: pistol t-shirts started appearing in 1933 as part of statewide prohibition efforts designed to reduce crime rates. Pistol t-shirts gradually transitioned from being popular among law enforcement officers into becoming more common among civilians over time - although they continue to be popular with collectors today.

Camas is a small town in Washington State, United States. The population was 1,878 at the 2010 census. Camas is located on the eastern edge of the Yakima National Forest and has a rich history dating back to 1855. The community was named for John Camas, an American fur trader who had come to the area in 1855. The first permanent settler in what became Camas was George Prentice in 1858. There were several other early settlers before that, including John Hickey in 1861 and David Tilton in 1865. By 1870, there were about 25 people living in what is now Camas. The first post office opened in Camas on July 10, 1870. It remained open until it was closed by the U.S. Postal Service on December 15th of that year because of low mail volume; however, the name "Camasa" still remains as a reminder of this early outpost on the Yakima River east of modern-day Tacoma, Wash., which served as its hub from 1870 until 1902 when Tacoma became its primary satellite city with its own post office and ZIP code.. In 1903, when Tacoma consolidated with Seattle to form one municipality under then-mayor James Knopp (1902-1906), much of what is now downtownSeattle was built around W South Pacific Street between First and Second Streets (now Pioneer Square). That intersection would become known as "Knopp Plaza". In 1907 camasis merged into Pierce County and lost most if not all of their local government power; however they retain their name as part of Pierce County folklore and are legally allowed to use it without county sanction though they currently refrain from doing so.. Camas, Washington is located in the U.S. state of Washington and is bordered by the states of Oregon to the east, Idaho to the north, and Nevada to the west. The population was 8,692 at the 2010 census. Camas was founded by George Vancouver in 1847 as a fur trading post on what is now called Big Salmon River. In 1849, it became a town and in 1861, it became an incorporated village under the name of Camas. It was named for Mount Hood, which is located in Oregon. During World War II, Camas played an important role as a munitions plant for Boeing Air Force Base during World War II due to its location near Boeing plants in Centralia and Moses Lake. The Camas-Moses Lake School District was founded in 1951 and serves students fromCamas through Moses Lake with instruction within three schools: primary (K–8), middle school (9–12), and high school (13–18). The district has also operated two annexes: North Seattle Annex (#5) serving students from Ballard through South Seattle; and Southeast Spokane Annex (#3) serving students from Eastern Spokane through Southwest Spokane. The Camas-Moses Lake School District has about 2200 staff members who serve over 9000 students including About 1100 special needs kids!
Camas was founded on December 10, 1832 by George Washington and his family. The town was named for the Camas Prairie which lay to the east of the town. The first store in Camas opened in 1834. In 1838, a post office was established inCamas and continued to be operation until 1903. The first school in Camas opened in 1840 and lasted until 1941. In 1902, a movie theater was built in Camas and continued operations until it closed in 1984. In 1907, a dam was built across the Columbia River near Camas and served as an important factor for irrigation growth throughout the region. In 1916, Camp Sherman Training School (later renamed Fort Lewis) was established at nearby Anacortes, providing education for American soldiers stationed in World War I. The town's economy grew during World War II with production of munitions such as fighter planes and tanks being significant contributors to its growth. After the war ended, camaraderie died out among many veterans who returned home; however, CAMAS has experienced recent resurgence with homeless encampments gradually displacing more traditional businesses that have been displaced by more conventional businesses over time
