The Puget Sound Gun Pouch Alliance was founded in 1984 to promote the use and sale of gun pouches in the City of Burien. The group is made up of representatives from businesses, organizations and individuals who support the safe storage and transportation of firearms.
Burien is a town in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,831 at the 2010 census. It lies on the Puget Sound Peninsula and is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. Burien was founded by German immigrants in 1881 as "Burgum", renamed "Burien" in 1907 after its founder, August Burge. The post office at Burien opened in 1911. In 2016-2017 City Council approved plans for $105 million to update infrastructure including resurfacing streets and sidewalks; expanding public transportation options; adding mixed-use buildings adjacent to existing parkland; developing a new waterfront park; and creating a business district around downtown that would houseulture businesses along with residential units

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen also grew up in Burien and worked there part time during high school while attending college at Washington State University (WSU). He graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1938 before starting his own company named Western Electric Corporation (WE). After WSU completed its football stadium project that year and their students were unable to attend games because they were protesting against tuition hikes, Gates decided to move into town instead and work on building new stadiums for WSU's football team--a decision that would later lead to his creation of Microsoft Corp., one of the world’s largest technology companies today. The first people to live in what is now Burien were the Tanascos. The Tanascos are thought to be the ancestors of the Kootenai tribe. In 1853, the U.S. government bought land in present-day Burien from the Tanascos and began developing it into a town. The town was named after Major George Washington Burien, who had been an officer in the U.S. Army during World War II and later served as mayor of Seattle.
