In 1851, Stevens merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company to form what is now known as Winchester Firearms Corporation. Winchester soon became one of America's leading firearm manufacturers, producing some of its most famous products such as the Winchester Model 1892 rifle and shotgun. During World War I (1914-18), Bremerton saw an increased demand for artillery ammunition due to combatting both World Wars I (1914-1918) and II (1939-1945). Gun barrel production surged during World War I because it was easier than ever before to make new guns using standard barrel cores that could be mass-produced quickly. This allowed arms manufacturers like Winchester to produce unprecedented quantities of ammunition at low cost without having to build custom weapons from scratch each time a new war broke out. In addition, World War I helped spur technological innovation within firearms industry; for example, developments like gas ignition caused handguns like handguns and revolvers to take on a new role as infantry assault weapons during World War II (WWII).

Bremerton is a small town in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tacoma–Bellevue–Everett metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Bremerton was George Stephenson in 1851. He built a log cabin on the bluff overlooking the Puget Sound and named it Bremerton after his native country of Scotland. In 1863, John D. Rockefeller purchased land east of Bremerton from the Thomson family and began to build what would become Rockefeller's logging and shipping empire. By 1876, he had developed a town on the bluff which he named "Rockefellerville". In 1886, Paul Revere settled in Bremerton with his wife and two children after being discharged from military service in India during the American Revolution. They built a home on First Street and continued to live there until their death in 1944. Their son Paul Jr., who became an important figure in Republican politics throughout Washington state, also lived in Bremerton at some points during his life. The Revere House still stands adjacent to First Street across from Everett High School today. In 1915, Mayor James Fenton announced that he would run for governor as a Republican against incumbent Grover Cleveland; however, Fenton only received 3% of the vote statewide and did not stand for reelection In 1925 Seattle-based businessman George Earle bought Fenton's seat as Thurston County sheriff; Earle served one term before retiring due to health problems Bremerton experienced its heyday as an agricultural center during World War II when many jobs were created by Boeing Airplanes manufacturing bombers at nearby Cheney Plant . However , following Pearl Harbor , most wartime production went into tanks and shipsbuilding near Tacoma while local businesses lost customers deserting town for other inland communities like Bellevue or Everett . After peace came through breMerTON reverted back to its pre-war status as an agricultural center with few new business ventures started until 2000s when things changed again with more heavy industry coming into town such as Alaskan Malamute meatpacking company The history of Bremerton goes back over 350 years according to oral histories collected by local historian Rick Kratzhauser .
