Ammo has been a part of Washington state since the early 1800s. The first ammunition was shot by Native Americans in the area now known as Bremerton. In 1825, Captain John Stevens acquired land in what is now Bremerton and started to sell bullets and powder to farmers and traders. He also built a store on the current location of the Naval Ammunition Depot (NAD) to sale his products. In 1865, Captain John Stevens' son, George Stevens, took over ownership of NAD and continued to produce ammunition for Washington State's military purposes. In 1896, a new plant was built at NAD and began producing high-quality rounds for use in guns and cannons. By 1909, all production at NAD had stopped because of World War I but the depot continued to be used for storage until it closed in 1947. During World War II, stores were open at NAD during 1944-1945 when ammo was rationed due to war efforts. After the war ended, Nad reopened as an ammunition plant with increased production until it closed again in 1978. Since then, efforts have been made by local community groups and businesses to preserve Nad as an historical landmark that serves as a reminder of America's role in world wars 1 through 9. The museum currently operates parts of Nad while other portions are being restored or renovated; however, most importantly, Nad remains open for visitors to explore during regular business hours! The first ammo manufactured in Washington state was Shotts Bullets #1 hand cannon shot from 2" barrel muskets which used .50 caliber round killed 5 people & wounded 20 others on board USS Constitution on July 12th 1775 After this event many gunsmiths set up shop making their own cartridges like this one starting around 1825

Bremerton, Washington is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,853 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma area. The first permanent settler in Bremerton was Nicholas Myrick on December 14, 1851 and the town was platted on May 9, 1854. The first post office was established in Bremerton on October 20, 1855. The first business to open in Bremerton was a hardware store and seed dealer called "Myrick's Hardware". The Puget Sound Navigation Company built its shipyard here in 1865 and started building warships for the U.S Navy. In 1898 when Japan attacked America with an attack on Pearl Harbor—the start of World War II—Bremerton became one of the busiest ports in America due to wartime demand for naval supplies and ships. In 1945 Bremerton hosted the launch of Project Mercury which led to Neil Armstrong becoming the first human being to walk on moon during a mission named "Eagle" which took place at Kennedy Space Center located just outside town limits. In 1951 Bremerton became home to Boeing’s experimental research center where they developed both airliners and missiles during their later years here including their 747 Program that produced some of world’s most famous planes such as Concorde and Air Force One while also creating many jobs along with it including many aircraft manufacturing firms now headquartered within or adjacent to Boeing Field today known as NASA's Langley Research Center
