After prohibition ended in 1933, gun enthusiasts throughout the state turned to unregulated "street" sales ofguns to fund their hobby - which led to increased demand for gun parts from businesses like the Bothell Gunsmith Shop that could now provide those parts at a lower cost due to advances in manufacturing technology. In 1945, J. Hickenlooper's store reopened under new ownership and continued serving the community until its closure again in 1960 due to competition from larger stores across the state of Washington once again (though this time without prohibition). Today, botheldisplays both old-fashioned firearms including handguns and rifles while also offering unique items like ammunition cases and custom rifle barrels (most notably those made for Winchester Repeating Arms Company products).
Bothell is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 10,521 at the 2010 census. Bothell was founded in 1851 by members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. It became an incorporated village in 1893. Bothell is located on the eastern edge of Seattle and is within the University District of Seattle.
