In 1865, Congress passed an act which designated Bothell as the site for Puget Sound Naval Station; it would be used as an naval training ground for future Marines and Sailors until 1912 when it became aentship to Joint Base Lewis-McChord During World War IIBothell played an important role as one of two landing zones for American forces invading Japan from December 1944 through April 1945; it also hosted airfields used by Allied bombers during this period including Boeing Air Force Base #11 The post office was established in 1916 and closed its doors on October 15th 1957 due to budget cuts by then Postmaster General James Doolittle Jr.; however its name still remains on building number 5 across from First National Bank

In 1911Bothell annexed part of the rural community of SeaTac to form a new municipality with a population of 12,000 people which would become known as SeaTac City later that year. On January 1, 1913King County annexed all but 3% of Shoreline Village into Bothell limits making it an urban area with a population of over 15,000 people including many small villages scattered throughout its boundaries which are still administered through municipalities today
