Bothell, Washington is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 20,811 at the 2010 census. Bothell is located on the eastern side of Seattle metropolitan area and is bordered by Bellevue to the south and Kenmore to the north. It is one of two cities in King County with a downtown district (the other being Redmond). The city was founded in 1853 as part of what would become Seattle. In 1891, Bothell became an incorporated town after it was chosen as the site for a new county courthouse. The first mayor of Bothell was J.D. Porterfield. In 1907, Bothell annexed Lakeview Heights to its west and incorporation followed five years later. From 1925 until 1959, Bothell had its own radio station which broadcast from WSDO-TV building on Fourth Avenue S.; however, that station folded down and ceased operations after only three years when WAFF-AM took over operations from it on channel 6; this station also aired public service announcements from then- Mayor Norm Coleman until his retirement in 2009; prior to this time all WCVB programming was simulcast on WAFF-AM's sister station KIRO-FM adjacent to Safeco Field until KIRO moved their transmitter location inside the stadium during construction of Safeco Field; however WCVB remains an owner/operator partner with KIRO through partnership agreements related to use of cabling between respective stations ground level at First Avenue NE and First Street NE During World War IIBothell served as an airbase where Boeing developed bombers for the USAAF under contract with Puget Sound Naval Shipyard; plant personnel produced 400 munitions lbs per month by 1945 In 2002Bothell passed a resolution proclaiming October 15th "National Day for Diversity" In 2006Bothell celebrated its 125th anniversary
