Bonney Lake is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bellevue-Everett-Renton metro area. The Post Office at Bonney Lake opened on July 1, 1892, and was renamed as Everett on February 15, 1896. The town incorporated as a village on December 4, 1907. On January 1, 1909 the village became a city under the name of Everett. The current name is based upon an early settler's choice of "Bonney" for its isolated location and beauty in contrast to nearby Bellevue and Renton. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. As of the census of 2000, there were 2,382 people, 753 households, and 596 families residing in the town. The population density was 913 per square mile (351/km²). There were 815 housing units at an average density of 379 per square mile (151/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98% White; 0% African American; 0% Native American; 0% Asian; 0% Pacific Islander; 0% from other races; and 2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3%of the population. There were 753 households out of which 34% had children underthe ageof 18 living with them, 58% were married couples living together., 10% had a female householder with no husband present., and 24% were non-families.[7] In

Bonney Lake is a small town in WASHINGTON state, located on the Snake River. It was founded in 1877 by George A. Bonney, who also named it after his home county ofbonney, Nebraska. The post office at Bonney Lake was established in 1879 and has been in operation continuously since that time. The community initially consisted of only a few homes, but it grew quickly due to its location and access to the river. In 1935 the city of Bonney Lake annexed part of the town and changed its name to Bonney Lake City. In 1954 the city annexed another part of the town and changed its name again to Bonney Lake Township. Today, Bonney Lake is an agricultural community with a population of about 350 people livingmostly in the village center and around two large farms which are used for raising livestock, hay production, and potatoes for food purposes.
Bonney Lake was first settled by the Klickitat tribe in the late 18th century. In 1853, the United States government organized what is now Washington as a territory and named it Bonney Lake Territory. The area was renamed Bonney Lake after General George A. Bonney, who served as military governor of Washington from 1850 to 1861.
