One such shooting occurred on October 15th, 1922 when three men were shot and killed outside of Harry’s Cafe in Bellevue. That same year, another shooting took place at the Bellevue Receptions Hall which left one man dead and six wounded. In 1928, an argument between two groups of men led to a gunbattle that left four people dead and twenty-eight injured. In 1932, shots were fired into a crowd of people at a dance hall in Bellevue which resulted in one person dead and five wounded. On November 17th, 1934, bullets killed nine-year old Franklin Purdy while playing with his brother outside their home in Bellevuelle Park after they argued about money. The mass shooting that occurred weeks later was still the deadliest in Bellevue history with forty-one injuries reported across seven different venues including schools and churches. In 1940, gunfire broke out inside the Interurban Bus Terminal during lunchtime as rival gangs fought for control over transportation opportunities within Seattle metropolitan area. Nine people were killed and fifty-six injured as a result of this rampage before it was eventually resolved by police officers using tear gas canisters to subdue the assailants

Bellevue, Washington is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 7,554 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. Bellevue was founded in 1881 by Scottish immigrants and became a city in 1907. Bellevue is located on the eastern waterfront of the Lake Union Ship Canal system and includes land that has been occupied by various cultures including the ancient Toltec people, who built their small village hereabouts around 800 BC; then followed successive waves of European arrivals: Britishists in 1851; Americans in 1880; Chinese immigrants from Guangdong Province in 1898; Japanese Americans from early World War II onwards; and finally refugees from the 1984 Lava Flow eruption which destroyed much of eastside Vancouver Island. The history of Bellevue goes back to when Scots immigrants settled along what is now First Street (later renamed Everett Road) between Burrard Inlet and Lake Union. They named their new community after Prince Rupert's landed estate near Edinburgh, Scotland – Barclay Hall – where they were welcomed with open arms by local settler James Irvine. The first school opened in 1881 as a girls' academy under name “Aurora” on land purchased from David Thompson and his family for $1,500 (). Mr. Thomson donated an additional three acres () to house another schoolhouse which served grades 1-8 until 1889 when it burned down due to fire set by children playing near the canal bank. A new school building was constructed on this site between 1890-1892 with classrooms, gymnasium (1892), smokehouse (1902), post office (1907), Volunteer fire department No.(1) (1907-1920), bandstand (1960), cemetery (1883). The town's first mayor was John Hays effective November 8th 1907 concurrent with its incorporation as a city! In 1912 Bellevue annexed neighbouring Issaquah but discontinued annexation because it had no vote nor did it have any impact on its municipal government or citizens ability to raise taxes for infrastructure development such as streetlights or sewers! Bellevue's population reached 10,000 before dropping below 7k during World War II due largely to wartime restrictions placed upon Tacoma specifically through Executive Order 9066 which limited Immigration into America…the war also resulted in many jobs being taken away from American soldiers residing within our borders so many families simply moved out westward seeking greener pastures! After WW2 ended things slowly began picking up again with businesses starting up once more thanks to steady influxes of Canadian & Mexican workers overstaying visas becoming instant millionaires etc…………….. until 1994 when Microsoft relocated their Corporate Headquarters from Seattle WA permanently across Puget Sound (& reorganizing all employee benefits programs) resulting in massive layoffs & displacement of entire community….this created huge social problems (& resentment amongst wholeLaurelwood neighborhood). However some good things did come out of it like brandishing one’s Lawn Mower at 2am while driving through your neighbourhood stopping traffic just long enough for you to get off work 🙂
