The population was 15,752 at the 2010 census, making Bellevue one of the most populous cities in King County. Bellevue is located on Puget Sound and straddles both sides of Lake Union. In 1829, George Catlin created the first stereoscopic camera which could create 3D images with its three lenses. In 1875, Alexander Graham Bell developed a way to send messages over telephone lines using light signals that had been converted into binoculars form by Samuel Morse and Alfred Vail in 1876

Today, BellevUE is one of America's most vibrant cities with thriving businesses, cultural attractions, and lively neighborhoods stretching throughout its core neighbourhoods: Northgate (the central business district), Southgate (the waterfront neighbourhood), Eastside (the east side of town), Downtown (along Elliott Bay), Lakeshore (just south of downtown), University District (between Seattle Central Park and Lake Union) and Ballard – home to much of Seattle's recent post-industrial redevelopment

The population was 43,574 at the 2010 census, making Bellevue the second-largest city in Clark County after Tacoma. Bellevue is located on Lake Washington, just east of Seattle, and is part of the Seattle–Tacoma metropolitan area. Bellevue has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification Cfa) with very hot summers and mild to cool winters. Bellevue was platted in 1851 as part of what would become King County by landowner James Hensley. The name "Bellevue" was chosen because it sounded like "the town over against us on the Sound," an allusion to Mount Vernon, Virginia—then one of Puget Sound's most important towns. In 1854, surveyors named the town after General Andrew Jackson's army commander Major General John Jacob Astor's son-in-law Major George Everett Marshall;Marshall had been aide de camp to Jackson during his invasion of Mexican territory in 1847. In 1861, when America seceded from Great Britain, Bellevue became part of Confederate Washington Territory under Lt.-Gen Winfield Scott Hancock as its first capital; later that year it became the temporary capital for Oregon until Portland came into operation on February 17, 1868. When Territorial Kansas seceded from Missouri on November 16th1865 (becoming Nebraska), BellevUE became its new capital; it remains this today although Omaha now occupies much of its former downtown area including much First National Bank building which once stood near Fremont Street NE & Union Station NW corner). On January 15th 1886 BellevUE passed through a complicated annexation process with unincorporated Snohomish County becoming its new neighbor southward along I-5(now known as State Route 522) until both villages were annexed by KING COUNTY December 2nd 1886 when Snohomish County lost jurisdiction over other parts of KING COUNTY due to too great an increase in population growth there which had not followed local plans for annexing adjacent unpopulated areas). On April 12th 1889 King County repealed SnohomishCounty annexation laws effective immediately upon completion thereof bringing about extensive propertyChanged within those areas since then including many large ranches & farms belonging to original owners who protested such action & still maintain some rights thereto

Bellevue, Washington is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 53,912 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of King County. Bellevue was founded in 1851 as a small town on the shores of Lake Washington and grew to become one of the largest cities in Puget Sound. Bellevue is also home to Microsoft Redmond Campus and many other high-tech companies. Bellevue has been called "the Silicon Valley of Northwest America." The first human settlement in what is now Bellevue was made by Scandinavian immigrants in 1851 when they arrived from Norway onshore at then known as Sand Point on Seattle's Elliott Bay. Named for Bishop George Dickenson of Peterborough, England who had sponsored them while stationed there on military duty, this pioneer village quickly outgrew its original location and soon had a post office, hotel and store. The settlers later renamed their new town after George Dickenson himself – Bellevue – but it wasn't until 1876 that the word "Bellevue" began to be used widely throughout King County due to its growing importance as an agricultural center with fruit orchards and dairy herds. In 1908 Thomas Edison built his summer home here just south of downtown Bellevue on land he did not own but leased from local farmers for use as a model farm for early wireless experimentation; his famous laboratory complex still stands today across from Millennium Park (just east of I-5). By 1930s BellevUE had grown into one of North America's most populous urban areas with over two million people living within its boundaries – making it one of the largest metropolitan areas in both Canada and the United States at that time! Large percentages of these residents were employed within North American electronics manufacturing companies such as Philips Electronics Company (now Alcatel-Lucent), General Electric Company (GE), Motorola Mobility Inc., Intel Xeon Corporation (INTC) and others located within what are now several neighborhoods including Capitol Hill/University District/Belltown/Magnolia/Lenox Hill/South Park etc., near CenturyLink Field which served as both their primary working environment (manufacturing plants were often close together) and their social infrastructure reaching far beyond their immediate workplaces; transportation options included streetcar service along Lake Union Boulevard which ran through downtown BellevUE until it was truncated by freeway construction in 1956; rapid transit system services were available via bus Rapid Transit Line 1 extending northeast from downtown via University Avenue arterial corridor paralleling Interstate 5 before terminating at Green Street inside Belltown; boat ferries reached Lakeport Drive Ferry Terminal located just northwest of downtown serving various neighborhoods adjacent to Downtown BellevUE such as Queen Anne’s Domain/Royal Botanical Gardens etc.; according to 2007 US Census Bureau estimates approximately 60% percentof all jobs currently generated within North American electronics manufacturing companies are located outside your typical metropolitan area although some traditional industrial sites have begunTo reverse this trend many major employers have relocated production activity back inside larger metropolitan areas since 2000 although transportation costs remain an important factor especially when large numbers of employees are commuting long distances: For instance Gates Rubber & Plastics now operates almost exclusively out-of-state facilities including a plant outside Cincinnati Ohio; Carrier Air Conditioning & Heating moved production associated with its large Dayton factory from Indiana to Monterrey Mexico City previously serving southeastern Ohio before returning home again during the current economic recession; Lucent Laboratories also produced significant quantities OF electronic equipment primarily destined for export prior to switching operations to Rochester NY during 2008–2009 following onset global financial crisis
Bellevue was founded in 1851 by Captain George Keyes and his wife Eleanor. It became a town in 1863, when it was annexed by Seattle. The Keyes family continued to live there until 1917, when they moved to Bothell. Bellevue's economy changed quickly during the Great Depression, with a decrease in manufacturing and an increase in automobile sales. After World War II, Bellevue grew slowly but steadily as a suburb of Seattle. In the early 21st century, Bellevue experienced rapid growth as the city of Seattle declined and its population dwindled. The remaining residents of Bellevue voted to secede from Seattle in 2020.
