As Everett grew increasingly suburbanized over time, BellevUE remained its primary economic center despite having no incorporated municipality other than Bellevue itself until 2003 when voters passed a charter amendment making BellevUE an official city status pursuant to state law No 4894 ( Measures 2001). Bellevue has experienced many milestones during its history including becoming one of only two cities in Washington State[9] to be designated as a global cancer research center,[10] being home to America's first indoor soccer stadium,[11] and hosting both the 2002 FIFA World Cup[12] and UEFA Euro 2004.[13] In 2016/17 season he hosted his second ever MLS match taking place against Orlando City SC which finished 3rd in Seattle Sounders jersey rivalry series

A year later John McLoughlin explored Puget Sound and named it after Sir George Vancouver who haddiscovered British Columbia in 1792. Dutch traders had also traded at this location before Englishman David Thompson discovered gold near Tappan Point on Nov 21st 1825 during his first trip upriver from New York City overland route known as The Oregon Trail
