In recent years there have also been several development projects announced that will impact the square including: a grocery store/restaurant chain called "Grizzly" set to open next door to Northwest Market; a Target store expansion adjacent to Home Depot; an addition to the nearby Cheney High School which will house an auto detailing business called "Don't Be Ridiculous" ;and finally a new park proposed that would span almost half a block between Main Street eastward past Cheney Elementary School on one side while another side would include two blocks of flats currently used for parking lots!
