Vienna, Virginia is a small town in Fairfax County, Virginia. The population was 5,914 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Washington Metropolitan Area and is bordered by Prince George's County to the north, Alexandria to the east, Fairfax to the southeast, and Loudoun County to the south. Vienna has a humid subtropical climate with very hot summers and mild winters. According to The Weather Channel, Vienna experiences an average monthly temperature of 65° F (18° C). The community was founded in 1795 as Nicholas-Townsendtowne on land that now includes most of present-day Vienna. In 1866 it became one of four townships within Fairfax County. In 1874 Vienna absorbed portions of Manassas Park and Reston Townships within Arlington County. It remained a separate municipality until 1975 when it merged with Arlington into Greater Falls Church. In 1976 Vienna annexed parts of Sterling Heights and Takoma Park from Montgomery County along with other smaller communities in western Maryland for economic development purposes only; these annexation events are not generally considered official annexations because they did not result in full city status for Austria but rather were mere changes in boundaries without any change in government or demographics Today, much like many other towns around the Washington metropolitan area Austrian culture is still alive and well thanks largely to its sister town Arlington which has been her home since she first arrived there from what is now Czechoslovakia during World War II

Vienna, Virginia is a small town located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The population was 3,873 at the 2010 census. Vienna was founded in 1777 by General Sir George Washington and was named for his hometown of Vienna, Austria. The town played an important role during the American Revolution and has been mentioned numerous times in the United States Constitution. In 1898, Vienna became part of the newly created Commonwealth of Virginia. It currently has a population of around 5,000 people who live primarily in the town center and its few surrounding villages. The history of Vienna begins with its founding as a small village on July 4th, 1777 by General Sir George Washington and his troops following their victory over Lord Cornwallis at Saratoga Campaign. The original settlers were Huguenots who fled France after the French Revolution. They built homes near what is now downtown Vienna and began to grow crops and trade goods with nearby communities. By 1800, there were around 100 residents living in what is now known as downtownVienna. In 1801, Congress approved plans to build a new capital for America on Mount Vernon Island which would eventually become Richmond, Virginia. However, due to financial difficulties caused by Napoleonic Wars (1803-1814), only 6 miles north of where Washington had planned to locate his capital—in what is now Arlington County—the city fathers decided to move their government services’ headquarters from Mount Vernon Island to what is today's Vienna instead Despite being smaller than Richmond by 1/5th its size (!), it quickly became one of America's most important cities due to its strategic location just outside Richmond proper on two main highways: I-95 (now US-1) running east-west through both counties; and VA Route 1 running northwest-southeast through much of Arlington County parallel with I-95/US 1 about midway between them (just east of Fairfax Avenue). This made it possible for wealthy Virginians like James Monroe (1767-1845)and others associated with eastern seaports such as Norfolk & Portsmouth to establish themselves along I-95 corridor while still having easy access both into Richmond proper via Interstate 95 or ontoVirginia Route 1 from points northward including Alexandria/Petersburgarea while also enjoying suburban amenities like Lynchburg southward on I-81 just beyond Hampton Roads before terminating at Petersburg Point near Hampton Roads Naval Base - homeport since 1815of USS Potomac [16] - makingVienna one Of America's major commercial centers during this time period A big thank you goes out to all our historical research assistants especially Brooke Tillery – Michelle Rojas – Cassandra Slaughter
