Scope mounts have been a part of Richmond, Virginia for over 100 years. The city was founded in 1782 by George Washington and named after Mount Vernon, the home of the president. In 1951-1952 The Citizens' Committee on Parks & Recreation developed plans for renovating Henson Park including installing public restrooms, adding some trees/shrubs around the perimeter of the amphitheater area where there were none before, adding benches along pathways throughout the park as well as planters with flowers near ponds located near entrances/exit points into the park serving not only residents but also picnickers coming into town during lunchtime or evening hours who would then leave again shortly before dark so no disturbances took place; these changes were made partially due to protests againstnahtatungarao's proposed development adjacent to Henson Park known as "The Peninsula", which would have surrounded much of what is now Arlington Heights Cemetery in addition to changing demographics within town limits due to increased commuting rates associated with Interstate 95 travel within town limits; ultimately this proposal was never realized however traffic calming measures were put in place allowing vehicular access only on one side while pedestrians could walk across; furthermore businesses located east of I-95B off US-4A used their frontage yards for commercial parking instead SIG Sauer rifles being unloaded inside their establishments
