However both were cancelled before they could be delivered due to financial problems with their construction teams; only LF4 made it into service as a combat ship during World War II serving primarily in convoy duty off Normandy coast . On 15 February 2021 VA announced plans to build three new battleships: USS Enterprise (CVN 68) -an advanced design designed by Bath Iron Works LLC; USSidentity (CVN 71) -a newly designed battlecruiser using technology stolen from Japan's Yamato class cruiser;USS Saratoga(CVN 74)—the first United States Navy warship ever designed specifically for anti-submarine warfare operations in open seas
