Gun lights have been around since the late 1800s. Prior to that, people used hand-held Lanterns or torches as light sources for hunting and navigation. However, gun lights were first developed for use in shooting contests and competitions. These days, they are still a common sight at events such as NRA shoots, air shows, music festivals, and more. In 1892, George Washington Carver patented a device called a Gun Lamp. This was an upright tube with a small hole in the center where an electric spark could be used to fire ammunition out of the lamp. The Gun Lamp was initially used by hunters to see in dark woods when no other sources of light existed. It also served as a warning signal to other characters during carnival games or fairs. In 1925, inventor Augustus Griggs invented the first self-luminous gunlight known today as the Headlightflashgun Light projector! This device consisted of two metal plates that were mounted on top of each other with an adhesive strip running along one edge. The light projector could be aimed using screws that protruded from either side of the machine gun mountings (pictured). When fired off from close range, this firearm-mounted light source created an impressive show for anyone nearby! Gunlights continue to play a large role in firearms enthusiasts world wide today! Manassas was founded in 1777 by General George Washington. In 1777, General Washington and his army were marching through Lancaster County when they came upon a large Indian encampment nearby known as the Monacan Indians had taken refuge there from British forces advancing through the area at that time. Washington ordered his troops to attack the Indians and drive them back into their own territory-an action which later became known as "The Battle of Manassas." Aftermath of the battle led to increased tension between British colonists and Native Americans in what would come to be known as the Pocahontas incident; this eventually resulted in General George Washington's successful march on Richmond en route to become Commander-in-Chief of all American forces during the Revolutionary War. In 1814, Congress passed an act designating Manassas within Alexandria COUNTY as one of twelve original townships within Loudoun COUNTY along with Reston (later renamed Arlington), Herndon (later renamed Dumfries), Mount Vernon (now Mayfield), Purcellville (now Westmoreland), Sterling Heights (now Livonia), Potomac Mills (now Fredericktown) , Winchester (now Rockville Centre) , Fredericksburg (later Fredericksburg Exchange) & Hanover Junction . With growth around him following America's victory over Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815–16, General Washington began looking for new land to annex into America from European colonial holdings throughout North America; he selected Manassas because it offered excellent prospects for development due to its strategic location midway between two major rivers: the Potomac River outside of town and Valley Forge outside of it on Wilhelm Road (). After passing several censuses throughout his term as President from 1789 until 1800 (),George Mason III formulated plans for developing Manassas into an agricultural society focused primarily on tobacco production while also constructing roads and schools (). In addition to providing soldiers with foodstuffs while stationed near Williamsburg,,the town soon developed into a thriving commercial center catering specifically to farmers who ranched their land around Valley Forge ()..
