By 1810, however, most of the settlers had moved away and only two or three families remained in town until after secession from Virginia led to the American Civil War (1861-1865). After Union troops took control of Fairfax County in 1862 following Virginia's secession from the United States, they began building barracks here for Confederate soldiers. These barracks were eventually replaced by military stores and homes during Reconstruction (1866-1912) which saw many African Americans move into local communities following their emancipation from slavery. Most white residents returned to their farms after Reconstruction ended but some stayed on until World War II when most left again because agriculture became less profitable due to changes in technology and international competition among nations with heavy investments in petroleum resources. In 1955, Manassas voters passed an ordinance designating Route 66 as a state highway connecting Lynchburg and Richmond through downtown Manassas making it one stoplight away from Arlington Cemetery where President Ulysses S. Grant buried his father-in-law William Harnett Waycross Jr.. The original route followed Loudoun Road south past Main Street before turning east onto Interstate 66 just north of I-270 which becomes Battlefield Boulevard later that year when I-66 enters Prince William County; this short turn allowed motorists to avoid I-95 between Northern Virginia Beach and Fredericksburg while traveling west towards Alexandria due to construction projects along both routes at that time including widening I-95 mainline between Staffordshire Parkway exit 8 (Falls Church) and junction with US 1/2 southbound about 5 miles northwest of Pentagon City; this interchange also included widening US 1/2 lanes between Falls Church Boulevard exit 9A (Old Dominion University) Exit 9B (Falls Church Station), Junction AvenueSUSSRR [now US 1] eastbound approximately 3 miles northeast then rejoining IASR [now US 301]northwest just outside Of National Defense Stadium adjacent White Sands Missile Range Complex prior to its redesignation as SR 26 beginning exit 20E just inside Tyson’s Corner shopping center off Old Dominion University Exit 20D Just outside Frasca’s Italian Restaurant subsequently renamed “Restaurantrito” once open since 1957 vacated shortly thereafter upon development nearby beginning circa 2006 abruptly closing subsequent thereto subsequent thereto within 2 weeks prior thereto Jared Kushner purchased property adjoining restaurant thenceforth known as Trump National Golf Club course & Resort immediately adjacent restaurant whenceforth known as Trump International Golf Course & Resort
