Manassas Park, Virginia is a small town located in Fairfax County, Virginia. The population of the town was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of Greater Washington metropolitan area. The name "Manassas" comes from Mount Manassas which overlooks the town. The first European to visit what is now Manassas Park was Captain John Smith in 1607, during his exploration of the Chesapeake Bay region. He named a small creek and peak in present-day Manassas after General Robert E Lee's victory over Native American forces at Battle of Bunker Hill on April 19th, 1775. For many years it was believed that General Lee's troops camped near today's intersection of I-495 and Old Dominion Highway (now called Pulaski Hwy.) In 1851, Congress appropriated $5,000 for erecting a public house in honor of Brigadier General George Biddle Wright who had served as commander of Union forces during the Shenandoah Valley Campaign. In 1862 Confederate General James Longstreet ordered all Union officers and men out of Richmond because he felt Richmond would be surrendered if it were not protected by military force - this order led to the Battle of Fredericksburg which ended with Vice President Abraham Lincoln being killed. The Town site was laid out in 1839 by Drury & Company developers Elias Howe and Benjamin Westphal and named for Major Samuel Jourdan who fought against Indianruce Creek band chief Powhatan and lost an arm at battle Kennesaw Mountain on October 12th, 1777 while serving with Lord Cornwallis' army under Monmouthshire volunteer colonel William Tryon. Jourdan arrived at Williamsburg July 3rd before setting off up permanent post near modern day Purplett Road/I-495 just north east corner Front Street/Highway 727 across from Stonewall Jackson Elementary School (no longer extant). manasseparkvillage@gmail.com
There has been a long and varied airgun history, with many different types of firearms being designed and manufactured over the years. Some of the earliest firearms were breech-loading pistols, which used gunpowder to fire balls through a small opening in the barrel, such as a breach in the stock, instead of loading from the magazine. These guns were developed by Englishmen in the early 18th century. Other breech-loading pistols were invented in France and Germany during the same period, but these guns typically fired ballistically via a percussion cap or other means rather than using powder to fire balls. This type of pistol was known as an “air rifle” or “pellet gun”. In 1795, John Browning patented his first successful air rifle, which he dubbed the Browning Rifle. The Browning Rifle became very popular and was soon followed by other manufacturers who began producing similarly styled firearms. It is interesting to note that some of these earlier designs were also quite accurate – for example, one Frenchman even produced an air rifle that could hit targets up to 100 yards away! During World War II, several different types of airguns were produced by both military and civilian manufacturers on a large scale. Airguns played an important role in various battlefields around the world and have continue to be used today as part of traditional hunting methods such as target shooting or rimfire shooting.

Manassas Park is a historic district in Fairfax County, Virginia. The area now comprising the park was first settled by Virginians in the 17th century. In 1814, General Robert E. Lee and his army retreated from Yorktown after Battle of Gettysburg and encampment at Manassas Park became their final resting place. The park was dedicated on July 4, 1814, which coincided with the centennial of the American Revolution. Today, Manassas Park comprises over 155 acres (60 hectares) of forested land including part of National Forest System property as well as portions of Arlington National Cemetery and George Washington University’s Old Dominion University campus.
Manassas Park was first settled in 1775 by the Menominee people. The area around present-day Manassas Park was part of the Rappahannock Indian Nation until 1787, when the British took it over. In 1800, General James Armistead planted a cotton gin in what is now known as Armstrong's Mill. The mill continued to operate until 1825. In 1838, Brigadier General George Biddle built a fort at Manassas Park to protect the southern approaches to Washington D.C. from Native American attacks. After Biddle's death in 1839, his successor, General Nathaniel Banks attempted to improve Fort Myer but found that there were no suitable trees for cannonballs to land on and he abandoned the project in 1840. In 1861, President Abraham Lincoln issued an executive order creating Alexandria County and assigning it its own seat – Prince William County – within Virginia’s newly formed central government. For more than 50 years thereafter, Prince William County has been one of Virginia’s six counties (along with Fairfax, Henrico, Arlington Heights/Harrisonburg/Lanham and Norfolk) which have elected county officials directly rather than through boards of education or other forms of government patronageitism. The original plantations along today's Route 1 were laid out by John Taylor between 1785-1789 after he secured land grants from Governor Dinwiddie east of Richmond on the Potomac River Valley tract known as “Old Dominion Plantations." These grants included 2 million acres (8 square miles) stretching from Fredericksburg northeastward across Loudoun County into Northern Virginia beyond Strasburg; much of this territory still remains rural farmland today. One notable factor behind these early plantation operations was Taylor’s desire for slave labor on large projects such as new roads and bridges - reducing travel time between Richmond and points north and west across the river during times of war or crop failures; later development patterns would reflect similar preferences for shorter trips via highway instead
