The Hopewell Shooting Company was a firearms manufacturer in the early 1800s in Hopewell, Virginia. The company was located on the east side of town and manufactured rifles, pistols, and shotguns. The company produced targets for shooting competitions and used different types of ammunition. The company ceased operations in the early 1900s.

The Hopewell Shooting Club was formed in 1892. It was the first club to be organized in Hopewell, Virginia. The club met on the second floor of the Masonic Hall. In 1895, the club moved to its present location on 38th Street and Elm Avenue. In 1903, the name of the club was changed to The Hopewell Rifle and Pistol Association. In 1924, membership increased to 100 members and in 1927 it became a limited liability company. On May 21st, 1957, The Hopewell Rifle and Pistol Association merged with The NRA of Fairfax County Incorporation which had been organized two years earlier.

Some Target Holder History The first Targets Holder was designed in 1793 by Major John Moultrie while he was commanding an artillery detachment at Fort Caroline on Hilton Head Island in Charleston Harbor, South Carolina. The device consisted of two long pieces of wood covered with felt and cloth which could be attached to a post for holding a target. This design was quickly copied by other commanders and troops across the country. By 1807, Targets Holders had become standard equipment on most artillery encampments throughout America. During World War I,Target Holder Specifications changed significantly due to wartime demands for increased range and accuracy at greater distances than ever before possible! A new type of Target Holder was created called the "Tripod"Target Holder which allowed you to place your rifle exactly where you wanted it within seconds after installation! These Improvements led directly to increased success rates when firing at long ranges during the war! After the war ended, many officers began using Targets Holds as display stand possessions for their weaponry in barracks and other officer quarters throughout America. Over time these items came into common use among infantrymen serving in battlefields all over America! eventually they evolved into what we know today as Rifle/Shotgun Targets Holders (RSTH). Today there are countless different types and designs available so whatever works best for you can be sure that your RSTH will provide years of satisfactory function!

Hopewell is a town in Prince George's County, Virginia, United States. The population was 1,463 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Hopewell was founded by James Hopewell in 1747 as a small community on the Potomac River near modern-day Arlington Heights, just upstream from where Washington D.C.'s Executive Mansion now stands. In 1851, Hopewell was moved to its present site within what was then Prince George's County and became one of the original towns in Fairfax County. In 1955, Hopewell again became part of Fairfax County when it was merged with other adjacent towns to make up the new county seat of Falls Church (now Manassas). The town's name comes from an old English term meaning "old mill" or "creek". James Hopewell built his first sawmill here in 1749 and continued to operate it until his death in 1755; after which the mill passed through several hands before being acquired by John Chalmers and then finally Samuel Custis for whom it continued operating until 1861. The first store opened here on November 3, 1789; by 1800 there were six stores and two hotels in operation along with a schoolhouse and five blacksmith shops serving both male and female customers respectively. By 1830 only one store remained open but this had become an important transportation hub for goods moving between Fairfax and Alexandria Counties overland crossings then known as "the Capital Corridor." In 1851, following the creation of Prince George's County, HopewELL again became one of its initial towns when it merged with other adjacent towns to form the new county seat - Falls Church - making it one of just a few jurisdictions within Fairfax that did not have their own municipal government separate from that of their respective counties (the others being Arlington Heights/Alexandria Heights/Falls Church). The remaining commercial businesses closed during this time as well; however, some reopened or briefly resumed operations once Falls Church had regained its Municipal Status on January 1st 1959 under newly elected Mayor Harry Sargent Jr.. Unfortunately due to lack of infrastructure at that time much redundant business activity took place instead such that only three businesses still remain extant today: JB Hickey’s Barber Shop & Shampooing Center (since purchased by GAP), Papp’s Bakery & Café (closed since 2009), & The Optimist Bookstore (& Cafe) which has been open continuously since 1961 despite numerous challenges including fire damage suffered in 2011 which destroyed most of its contents but spared neighbouring businesses – fortunately all reopened successfully afterwards! Today HopEWELL continues to be an vibrant community filled with culture, commerce and family values - something that has kept alive tightly knit relationships among its residents for centuries!
Hopewell was founded on October 8, 1711 by colonists from Virginia. The town was named for the Hopewell Rocks, which were part of the original grantees of Virginia. The town was established on a tract of land granted to John Smith by King George II in 1712. In 1719, Hopewell became one of the outposts of the WesternVirginia Frontier Company. At that time, Hopewell had a population of about fifty people.
