There has been a gun magazine in Danville, Virginia for over 100 years. The first issue of the Danville Rifle and Pistol Magazine was published in 1892. It was an eight-page tabloid-sized magazine that was distributed free to residents of Danville. The paper was created by Captain John A. Witherspoon and his brother, Colonel George Witherspoon. It was printed on pulp paper and sold at local grocery stores. The first handgun magazines were also published inDanville during this time period. However, these publications were much more advanced than the rifle and pistol magazine. They featured illustrations, articles, and diagrams on how to shoot handguns effectively. In 1892, Captain John A. Witherspoon also founded the First National Pistol Club in Danville which offered members training on how to use pistols effectively. This club continued to exist until 1907 when it merged with the Second National Pistol Club to form the Third National Pistol Club which still exists today! In 1911,Captain John A Witherspoon passed away and his brother ColGeorge took over as publisher of the Danville Rifle & Pistol Magazine followed by many other changes until 1915 when Colonel George's death ended its publication schedule! From 1915 through 1917 there were only two issues per year due to World War I; however after 1918 it resumed as a monthly journal! After World War II ended all gun magazines stopped publishing except for one issue per year from 1946-1949 due to economic reasons! For about 25 years after 1949 there wasn't any printings of Gun Magazines so they slowly died out until 2000 when they began reprinting again!

Danville is a small town in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is located in the northwest section of the state, bordered by Loudoun County to the west and Fairfax County to the east. The population was 11,898 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1754 as "New Danville", named for General James Danforth, who had fought during the French and Indian War. It became known as "Danville" after its annexation by Loudoun County in 1811. The name has been used since then to identify all of present-day Fairfax County except for a short stretch along Route 7 between Danville and Manassas Junction. According to one source, Danville's first school was built on what is now Market Street near where it forms today's downtown core. A second school opened on Liberty Avenue in 1772 shortly after Colonel John Dunmore’s expedition destroyed Fort Necessity on nearby Arlington Heights Hill. In 1801, much of what is today Danville came under British control when Egypt ceded land south of Loudoun River to Great Britain in return for military help against Napoleon Bonaparte's forces during his invasion of France. The area aroundpresent-day Danville became part of Fairfax County following that event. In 1848, Daniel Webster (the 9th U.S. president) appointed John Hays as commissioner from Kentucky to study methods for connecting Lynchburg with Washington D C by way of Alexandria & Richmond; Hays recommended a route through present day Danville & through Fairfax Heights which would have intersected with I-66 just north of Fredericksburg; but this proposal too passed without action In 1916, construction began on Interstate 66 across central Virginia and soon reached rural areas such as Danville whereupon US 6 Alternate was assigned via mileposts 471–474 southwest from Richmond towards Winchester I-66 entered into full use when it connected Lynchburg with Washington D C via Dulles Airport in 2003 Danvillians generally enjoy mild weather year round - although high temperatures can occur during summer months due to thunderstorms or heavy rains
