Christianburg is a town in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 21,986 at the 2010 census. Its zip code is 23236. Cotton production also began to increase during this time with many farmers leasing land for cotton plantations near present-day Lynchburg and Christiansburg. In 1927 the Potomac Electric Railway opened its line between Potomac Junction and Accra Township west of Damascus Road within Christianityburjg limits; this railroad helped stimulate development around the town center with many new homes being erected along Damascus Road during this time period; prior to 1927 there were only scattered farmhouses located primarily along east-west streets such as Spring Hill Drive or Richmond Highway outside of town limits.
