Gun swivels have been around for many years in Christiansburg, VA. The first gun swivels were made by a man named John Jacob Astor in 1827. They were just like the ones we use today, but they only worked with one hand. The second version of the gun swivel was made by J.B. Higgins in 1868. It used two levers to rotate the barrel and it also had a thumbscrew on the back to secure it to your hand

Church of the Nazarene: The Church of the Nazarene is a historic Protestant church located in Christiansburg, Virginia. It was built in 1855, and is a two-story Gothic Revival style brick building with a square tower. The property was purchased by the church from the Snively family in 1865. The first pastor of the Church of the Nazarene was Rev. James Blythe. Pastor Blythe preached to an audience of 1,000 people on November 10, 1855 at what is now Bloomingdale Baptist Church. Reverend Blythe’s sermon began “A word from our Lord Jesus Christ to His disciples...He that believeth on Him hath everlasting life.” In 1870, Reverend Jnoel Hightower became pastor of the church after serving as assistant minister for four years at First Presbyterian Church in Winchester. During his time as pastor, he encouraged enrollment in local agricultural schools and helped start churches throughout central Virginia. In 1886, Reverend Hightower erected a new addition to the church which included a gymnasium and an altar for worship services by itinerant ministers traveling through central Virginia preaching gospel messages door-to-door. The cornerstone for this addition was laid on December 25, 1886 by Rev. John Gentry Dillard who officiated at its dedication ceremony with Revs Hightower and Wm Pemberton Dillard as witnesses. In 1907, when First Presbyterian moved from Christiansburg to Lynchburg due to financial difficulties, Mrs Margaret Ewing donated land within walking distance of her home for use as a religious schoolhouse and nursery named after her deceased daughter Anna (Margaret). Mrs Ewing served as both school superintendent and parishioner until her death in 1942 while living on nearby land known as Elmwood Farm where she raised eight children with their father Drury Ewing Sr.. After Mrs Ewing's death Arlington Heights Episcopal School opened there during World War II under direction of Drury's widow Lois Sellers who also served as headmaster until her death in 2008 aged 96 years old.. On July 3rd 1951 Reverend Archibald Bell married Missy Fenton at St Nicholas Cathedral in Greensboro North Carolina becoming one half-brother (alongside his wife) of evangelist Billy Graham . Reverend Bell spent many years traveloguing throughout America preaching Christianity even eventually settling down permanently near Selma Alabama while continuing his ministrysouthwest of town working various churches including going into Mexico City among other places before dying suddenly three weeks shyof his 95th birthday due to pneumonia contracted while touring Germany .. In late 2009 Rev David Aarons became involved with local community outreach work Poor Catholic Relief Services (PARC) associated with Bishop Hugh Johnson receiving support from entrepreneur Jay Wynne founding The Jim theological seminary following Aarons' retirement .. In early 2010 PARC established Endowment Fund which provides humanitarian assistance worldwide based upon need .. The Chapel has been growing every inch! There are many different types of gun swivels available on the market today. The history of these devices dates back to at least the 1700s. At that time, handguns were typically used with two swivels on the barrel in order to rotate them around an axis. This was done so that the shooter could see clearly target gunfire and make accurate shots. Today, most handguns are now equipped with three or more swivels in order to provide better shooting accuracy. One of the earliest examples of a handgun with three or more swivels was made by Johannes Gutenberg in 1455. This device allowed shooters to rotate their handguns about an axis in order to aim for individual targets rather than relying on location-based fire control techniques. Additionally, this type of weapon was primarily used by European nobles and military officers during the Renaissance period. In 1847, a new form of handgun called an armory rifle began being developed by John Brownell and Samuel Colt. This firearm featured a gas-operated system that allowed shooters to rotate their pistols about an axis in order to aim them at various targets located throughout an arsenal or battlefield setting. This weapon became very popular during World War II due its ability to allow soldiers up close and personal contact with enemy forces while still able to use location-based fire control techniques.

Church of the Nazarene was founded in 1814 by a group of Baptist ministers who were looking for a place to worship where they could feel safe and respected. The first church building was built on the current site of the Christianburg courthouse. In 1836, the congregation purchased land from Elizabeth Smith, widow of General Robert E. Lee, and began construction of what is now known as First Baptist Church. services began on October 1, 1836, and it served as the center for religious activity for much of Virginia until statehood in 1907 created its own government. The first pastor at First Baptist Church was Dr. John Ritchie. He had been active in local politics and served as mayor of Churchtown before becoming pastor there in 1839-1840. During Ritchie's tenure, many important events took place at First Baptist Church including debates over secession from Virginia (which failed), meetings with President Andrew Johnson to discuss Reconstruction plans, and baptisms for slaves newly freed during the American Civil War. In 1865, after Confederate troops burned down First Baptist Church while occupying Chapel Hill County, Kentucky, Pastor James Loughran led a large group of people into exile to New York City where they established Nazarene College (later renamed Union Theological Seminary). In 1870-1871 Reverend John Fenton came to Christianityburg from Winchester and helped rebuild First Baptist Church following fire damage done by a storm that year. When Fenton left town he bequeathed his home property along West Main Street to the church which still functions today as part ofFirst Baptist Parish Hall annexe rent free to members or visitors wishing to tour its contents! Reverend David Aiken arrived in Christianityburg in 1886 and helped establish Old Second Presbyterian Church across South Bridge Street from First Baptists – this location would become home to Third Presbyterian Cathedral when that denomination merged with All Souls' Episcopal Cathedral later that year! Revived interest in religion led congregations throughout Virginia to erect new churches during Governor Edmund Randolph's administration (1892-1894) including Second Presbyterian on West Market Square; Fourth Presbyterian near modern day Huntington Avenue; Fifth Presbyterian Building now known as Christmastown Development Center; Sixth Presbyterians erected their new building on North Market Square just west of Interstate 95; Seventh Presbyterian moved their doors from downtown Petersburg into an old Masonic Lodge located within walking distance de facto Capitol Of The Commonwealth Building complex adjacent State House Annexe facing east inside Senate Chamber between National Mall north side & Potomac River south side !!! !!! !!!!!! Seventh building is currently being used as offices by Catholic Diocese Of Richmond - excellent opportunity for visitor/tourist attraction!!
Christiansburg is a town in the Commonwealth of Virginia located in Spotsylvania County. The population was 9,521 at the 2010 census. The name "Christiansburg" is derived from "Church Hill". The firstchristian settlement in what is now Christiansburg was founded by Captain James Robertson and his family about 1760. By 1800, there were over 100 Christian settlers living on Church Hill. In 1814, General Robert Ewell's army passed through Christiansburg on their way to Chesterfield Peninsula Campaign and destroyed part of the Dismal Swamp which had been used as an encampment for Native Americans by the local Potomac Company colonists. In 1819, Colonel John Sevier erected a gristmill on Church Hill which became one of the largest mills in Northern Virginia. It continued to be operated until 1862 when it was sold to Jno Hickey & Son who changed its name to New England Mill Company and then finally to First National Bank of Virginia in 1865. During World War II, Christiansburg played a major role as both an airfields essential for fighter pilots training at Williams-Glynis Air Force Base (now Wright-Patterson Air Force Base) and also as a munitions manufacturing center responsible for making many American weapons such as artillery shells, bombs, rockets and torpedoes. In 1951–1952, the post office was renamed from Harrisonville to honor Admiral Hyman Rickover who served as Commander United States Naval Forces Europe during World War II and later became Secretary of Defense under President Harry Truman. One notable structure located within or immediately adjacent to Christiansburg during this time period was Stonewall Jackson Elementary School which opened its doors on September 15th1945., becoming one of only three schools built specifically for African American students in Virginia during that time period In 2002–2003 Christianityburg voters approved a plan called " Unity Now ", aimed at bringing together different churches/ denominations within the town into one large building downtown known as The Commons . This project failed but has been referenced various times throughout town history since then
