In 1948, when several black students at Hampton University protested against racial discrimination at that school, violence erupted between whites and black students which led to three arrests and one injury before calm was restored by police officers arriving on scene without any orders fromabove In 1990s two incidents involving local high school students caused international headlines: On October 25th a group of 16-year-old male students at Highland High School shot five rounds into a car occupied by four other drivers after another student insulted them; later that same day an even larger group (20+) smashed windows of cars parked along Old York Road outside West Point Military Academy after being told by one driver that "All Niggers arestoned." These events created intense public response throughout Fairfax County which culminated with a march led byHighlandHomeschoolers across Monument Avenue from West Point Military Academy until it reached Interstate 66 whereupon participants dispersed following warnings from highway Patrol Officers; this event also resulted in charges being brought against six individuals including two juveniles On November 5th two high school seniors - both African American - were charged with nine felony counts each after breaking into a home near Loudoun County line early Saturday morning while parents were away; these cases are still ongoing multiple investigations are ongoing
