Arlington, Virginia is home to a large number of gun owners and dealers. Shotguns first appeared in 17th century Europe but they didn’t become popular until after World War II when machineguns started becoming available world-wide (see below). Shotguns are different from other firearms in that they don’t use any cartridges - instead, shotguns use shotgun rounds called buckshot which create projectiles up to three inches wide (see table below). Buckshot is especially effective at penetrating through armor since it travels at high speeds (especially when combined with an incendiary bullet). Arlington, Virginia is a small town in Fairfax County, Virginia. The population was 12,237 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Potomac River about 20 miles (32 km) north of Washington D.C. Arlington has been inhabited by humans since before 10,000 BC and was one of the earliest settlements in what would become the United States. The first permanent European settlement in Arlington was founded by Captain John Smith in 1606 as an outpost on Anacostia Creek near present-day Crystal City. In 1781, after British forces overran Alexandria during the American Revolution, General George Washington's army marched through Arlington to reach Yorktown and captured Richmond Manor in what is now Crystal City. From here General Washington led his coalition of Northern Virginians and British troops into battle against British general Cornwallis at Yorktown that resulted in a decisive victory for America and independence from Great Britain. After the war ended, most of Arlington lay within Rhode Island until it ceded its boundaries to Virginia effective July 14th 1801 when Congress passed an act annexing all of Prince Edward and Norfolk Counties west ofexcluding Providence Plantation which had already moved to Warwick Parish outside Jamestown Settlement. The first post office opened at Arlington on October 1st 1815 under the name "Anacostia". On November 15th 1847, Congress voted to change the name to "Arlington" after Field Marshal Sir Henry Lee who had helped lead British forces during the Battle of Bunker Hill which markedthe end of combat between Americans and Britishers across North America In 1917, Arlington became one of nine towns incorporated into Fairfax County as part of program called Municipal Reorganization which aimed to improve public services including fire protection, education and welfare areas On April 14th 1948 President Harry S Truman signed Executive Order 9981 establishing jurisdiction over all U.S territories except Puerto Rico under newly created Departmental Districts including Fairfax County In 1976 Union Pacific Railroad donated land eastof I-495 for a major new train station providing access to Dulles Airport In 1984 Douglas Aircraft Corporation built a large airport complex adjacentto Terminal A which included two runways plus taxiway allowing passenger flights onto Reagan National Airport Arranged around four parallel concourses with multiple gates each served by several airlines today Terminal A is also home to One story six inch high metal fence enclosing almost 150 acres () making it one half mile wide inside terrorist controlled airspace while vehicle traffic moves freely around two other Concourses facing residential neighborhoods known locally as "Gatesden"and "Lee Valley" . As recently as 2003 there were reports that wealthy Arabs were trying to buy controlof this area so they could have exclusive useof Reagan National Airport . However no evidence has ever been found confirming these reports however there are rumors abound

The first permanent residents in Arlington were white Englishmen who arrived from England in 1781. They were among the first people to settle in what is now Arlington County, Virginia. The area that is now Arlington was part of Prince George's County, Maryland before it was split into Fairfax and Alexandria Counties in 1833. Arlington became a municipality on October 15, 1865. It was named for General Robert E. Lee, one of the Confederate generals during the American Civil War. The town boundaries changed several times over the years and it eventually encompassed all of Fairfax County excepting parts of Crystal City and Herndon.
