James Atherton organized a Methodist church in West Point Village which he called Arlston Chapel; it served until 1861 when Arlington Female Academy moved into new facilities nearby on Northumberland Street (now York Road). In 1865 Arlington became one of six towns consolidated into Fairfax County under the jurisdiction of the newly created county court system. On October 1, 1925 (the day after Virginia become an independent state), Arlington merged with Falls Church to form what is now known as Fairfax County’s largest city-county merger since Chesterfield and Alexandria combined in 1871. A post office operated in Arlington from 1792 until 1915; mail was sent by wagons drawn by horse teams upriver to Middleburg where it was delivered by riverboat onto flatboats for shipment across Rappahannock River to Norfolk Island whence it reached Sydney or London before arriving at armories along the Potomac River estuary where it arrived safely at any port or pier within 24 hours—a feat that has never been duplicated There are several explanations for why this exceptional service ceased abruptly on October 1st: possible problems caused by World War I munitions production shortages exacerbated by unprecedented economic conditions following war;[1] post-war restrictions against importation of certain types of items including weapons because many European manufacturers had closed down following victory over Kaiser Wilhelm II's Germany;[2] changes made in Ulysses S Grant's Executive Order No 12887 which banned discrimination against American citizens owning military equipment abroad during wartime[3]; some believe that commandant General James Mclntyre may have become frustrated with this policy when too few Americans were able to comply,[4] but no definitive explanation exists In order continue providing extraordinary customer service levels even during long periods without orders there must be continuing investment/ development within company so we can keep innovation alive
