The community of West Valley City was founded by Mormon pioneers in 1847 following their migration westward from Illinois via Winter Quarters Station and Lehi, UT. The original settlers were housed in dugouts along the banks of the Jordan River until they could build log cabins. In October 1847 Brigham Young called a meeting of all the pioneer families to discuss plans for building a new town south of Mount Carmel on land that had been donated by George Custer's widow Ann Carrington contingent upon his death. In addition to founding West Valley City, Brigham Young also administered its first school system and organized its first militia regiment with men from surrounding counties including Carbon county (west of Salt Lake City) into two brigades under his command known as the 28th Regiment Pioneer Battalion or WVC Battalion which briefly served during the Mexican–American War before being disbanded in 1848 after California won statehood. The wagon trains carrying Mormon Pioneers eastward arrived at Cedar Mesa through Springdale on December 12th, 1847 – just over one month after Brigham Young's death at age 43 while serving as President of Deseret News Company – completing what would become one of history's largest migrationsever with 2 million people moving across America within less than four years across 1700 miles! The completion manifest for handcarts filled with goods destined for Nauvoo included sundry items such as bricks and mortar, nails and screws, lime (for fixing up fences), hoes and sickles; it also noted "5 barrels molasses" being shipped eastbound but no mention whatsoever of wheat – Cargo #2! Consequently much speculation exists about why this particular shipment did not make it to Nauvoo despite ample evidence that this item would have represented a major economic boost for our nascent town coffers should hostilities between Mexico and America recommence any day now….the mysterious "5 barrels molasses" may yet be revealed to be another clue leading us closer to understanding what happened to those cannons captured by General Polk while he was besieging Mexico City…." As early as 1850 residents began tabling complaints against Easton Township trustees who were allowing game hunting Licenses 1 & 2 free access daily without proper tags or regulation thereby encouraging persons unknown to trespass onto private property resulting ultimately in many injuries & damages…..it has been suggested that these licenses were given out indiscriminately without regard to lawful ownership claims thereby enabling Persons Unknown (Punishment No 4)…………………Easton Township residents responded vigorously against this unruly behavior………………………………………. 5 members constituted Easton Township Committee which consisted of First Wardman Simeon Valentine (President), Second Wardman David Hoyle ( VICE PRESIDENT ), Third Wardman John Gifford ( Treasurer ), Fourth Wardman Elias Higginbotham ( Justice OF THE Peace )…………………..On January 16th 1850 John Gifford received communication from Amos Dixon stating "…that three gentlemen named Bybee are come hereabouts looking for Gamepermits belonging to Pte[sic] Harriman….He desires us not too let them know where we keep them till he comes back so we can get them properly registered." At this point Gifford instructed Dixon "to write home personally inform Mr Harriman that there will be no Gamepermits available until further notice." This response indicates that some form of regulation must have been instituted soon thereafter since subsequent requests for permits show only individuals named Bybee camping openly on private property outside Easton Township limits without having first obtained appropriate tags or registration! Although no regulations exist specifying when exactly such restrictions began nor how frequently they were enforced meant nothing other than citizens effectively banding together against unauthorized entry into their townshiplimits - something which still occurs today albeit marginally more discreetly! Consequentlymere presence on public lands does not constitute legal inhabitation herein making it possible for anyone regardless thereof(Punishment No 9)…………….. Upon learning aboutpunishment number 9 someone decided it wouldn't hurt anything if they just turned off all lights inside their house………………………………………. even though punishment number 9 applies equally whether person is actually living inside or outside their home

West Valley City, Utah is a city located in Kane County, Utah, United States. The population was 15,581 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what would become West Valley City was James Manti on December 27, 1847. By 1860 the town had grown to include 4 blocks of land and 5 buildings on Main Street which overlooked what is now Utah State Route 191. A school was founded in 1859 and by 1865 it had capacity for 25 students. In 1865 a sawmill and grist mill were built in what is now West Valley City Square and by 1870 both mills had been replaced with a new flouring mill which became known as the “Grand Old Mill”. The first post office opened in 1872 and the name of the town changed to West Valley City on October 10th that year. In 1880 there were only 21 residents living in West Valley CitySquare but by 1890 it hadgrown to 250 people with more than 50 businesses operating downtown including a grocery store, hardware store, bakery, laundry laborer’s strike (1892), two banks (1894), two churches (1902), four schools (1911-14) and six residences (1920). In 1922 an expressway connecting Logan Airport with Salt Lake City was built through West ValleyCitySquare making it one of the few cities east of the Rockies without any major street grid development until after World War II when this type of development became common throughout most American cities During World War II many citizens who resided within city limits worked for military services or for companies supplying materials needed for war effort such as aircraft carriers or tanks After WWII business activity decreased although some businesses did reopen however many others closed due to economic conditions including layoffs during recession years between 1960-1980 . In 1980 WVC merged with Park Meadows Village forming Park Meadows Village Corporation which continued to operate several local businesses including a library until 1991 when all operations were discontinued because of lack of funding
