The town was founded in 1869 by Brigham Young as a station on his Mormon pioneers' journey from Illinois to Missouri. The first post office was established in West Jordan on December 10, 1870. The name "West Jordan" was chosen because it lay just east of Mount Pleasant and west of Cedar City, two other early pioneer settlements in what is now Logan County. A railroad bypassed the town in 1892 so there were no more stations or settlements developed here until after World War II when oil discoveries made this area an important petroleum center. The population grew rapidly during this time with new housing developments being built along State Street near Interstate 15 and Main Street south of I-15. Today, West Jordan remains one of the most populous towns within Logan County with over 10,000 residents and continues to be a major economic engine for its community with many businesses located here including several high-tech companies such as Dell Inc., Intel Corporation, Symantec Corporation, ATI Technologies Inc., Microsoft Corp., Brownell's Furniture & Home Products Co., IBM Chase Manhattan Bank etc.

From here on out things rapidly evolved and new types of Klingons were born!!! unsheathed fixed blades started becoming popularised all over Eurasia by 1000 AD[4] followed by Samurai sword wielding masters who began using these new type of swordsources such as ivory and jade in order to better defend themselves against similar skilled opponents outside Japan during the Kamakura Period (1135 – 1385 AD)[5],[6],[7], leading eventually on to modern day self-defense techniques utilizing edged weapons

The Mormons were opposed by the LDS Church and many residents fled to other parts of Utah during the 1850s when Mormon control over much of the state became evident. In 1857 Brigham Young led a group of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) from Nauvoo into present-day West Jordan to establish a new colony known as Zion. After years of missionary work and struggle against indigenous people, WestJordan became established as one of Mormonism's most important settlements in Utah. In 1907 it incorporated as a city, becoming one of the few American cities with its own zoning code. Today West Jordan is home to both an LDS church campus and an NBA basketball team which plays at Pepsi Center
West Jordan, Utah was founded on July 24, 1847, by Brigham Young and his men as a station on the Oregon Trail. On November 3, 1850, West Jordan became the county seat of Duchesne County.
