Taylorsville, Utah is a small town located in Tooele County, Utah. The population was 2,252 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. Taylorsville has a history dating back to 1892 when it was named "Pine Bluff." The town was renamed "Taylorsville" after General A. P. Taylor who fought in the Mexican-American War and later became an American Cavalry general during World War I. Taylorville's economy revolves around manufacturing and agriculture which continue to be major contributors to its economy today. Ammunition manufacture began in Taylorville in 1898, with David Chapman Manufacturing Company producing revolvers and other firearms for the posters and stagecoaches of the day. In 1912, Armour & Co., manufacturers of machineguns and artillery pieces, established a factory here that continued until 1958 when it merged with Winchester Arms Company to form Winchester Repeating Arms Corporation (Winchester). Taylorsville, Utah is a small town in the Uinta Mountains of southern Utah. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is located on Interstate 15 and is part of the Provo–Orem, UT Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town began as an agricultural community in 1853. Taylorsville was named for John Tyler Tayloe, a pioneer settler who arrived in1847. The first post office was established in 1854. In 1872, Taylorsville became the site of the United States Territorial Legislature which met there for two years before being moved to Ogden. In 1902, Taylorsville incorporated as a village and it remains that way to this day. Prior to incorporation, Taylorsville had no school or health care facilities; however, within five years of incorporation, the village had built its own school and health center which remain today. In 1948, Taylorsville joined with neighbouring Roosevelt to form Roosevelt County. This move helped solidify their place as one of Utah's most important rural communities and has helped contribute to the growth of both towns over time. The economy of Taylorsville depends largely on agriculture which employs around 60% of its workforce according to 2010 census data A major employer in the local economy are Tektronix Corporation based out of nearby Scranton but also includes many smaller businesses throughout town including numerous restaurants and service institutions such as banks and pharmacies

Taylorsville, Utah is a small town in southern Utah that was founded in 1847. The town was named for General James Tayler, who served as the first military governor of the territory. The town was originally located on the eastern edge of what is now Taylorsville and it developed around a trading post called Fort Taylors. The post was abandoned in 1852, but continued to be used as a storage depot until 1865. In 1865, the Post Office moved to its current location and the name of the town changed to Taylorsville based on this move. The population of Taylorville peaked at 1,500 in 1905 and decreased to just over 100 by 1970. However, since then, there has been an increase in population with recent growth being centered around the nearby University of Utah campus.
The Taylorsville Massacre took place on April 6, 1881, when Carbine Company #3 of the Utah Volunteer Cavalry killed nine Mormons who were celebrating a Spring Festival in Taylorsville.
