South Ogden, Utah is a small town near Salt Lake City, Utah. The population was 6,924 at the 2010 census. It is in Kane County. South Ogden is located on the south side of the Great Salt Lake and it has a total area of just over 10 square miles. The town straddles what was once the eastern boundary of Kane County and now part of Weber County. The first people to inhabit this area were Native Americans who lived along the Black River which crossed through South Ogden from northeast to southwest. In 1847, Brigham Young organized a group of Mormon pioneers and they traveled northward from Nauvoo into what is now Weber County. They built their first permanent home in South Ogden about 1849 but soon realized that there wasn't enough water for them all so they abandoned it and moved to Provo in 1850. There they built another home which still stands today and named it Provo House after him. In 1861, some settlers living east of Kaneville started moving westward because they found good land there for farming while others left due to political tensions between Utah Territorial Governor John Taylor and LDS leader Brigham Young (the founder of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints). When Brigham Young learned about this movement he issued an order prohibiting any more Mormons from moving westward until new legislation had been passed by Congress making polygamy legal again within Mormonism's newly formed United States government as well as giving religious freedom to Mormons inside America (this policy would later be repealed). So although many early residents in South Ogden followed those leaving eastward, mostathered moved back when their original homes were finally destroyed or taken away by developers during post-war growth in Kaneville and other nearby towns (but not South Ogden). One reason why few people live in South Ogden today is because salt hadn’t yet been brought here by sea when Europeans arrived so everything was fresh ground up before being used as food or fertilizer; however, modern technology allows us to get salt up here very easily using desalination plants! Today much of the local economy revolves around agriculture with livestock production accounting for 60%+of economic activity according to 2011 census data; however tourism continues to grow slowly thanks largely to its proximity to downtown Salt Lake City which offers plenty of things To Do including restaurants, entertainment venues, museums, parks & more!

South Ogden, Utah is a town in Wasatch County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,895 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salt Lake City metropolitan area. The name "South Ogden" comes from the Oglala Sioux word for "place of the buffalo." The first permanent settler in what is now South Ogden was James Bridger in 1847. He named his new land after General George Armstrong Custer who had died during the Mexican-American War a few years earlier. South Ogden grew rapidly during its early days as an agricultural center with cotton and other crops grown on large plantations near present-day Brigham Young University (BYU). Cotton production waned during World War II but has since resumed thanks to innovations in irrigation and other techniques. In 1912, South Ogden became one of seven townships within Wasatch County when it was organized. In 1916, the county seat moved from Provo to South Ogden which gave rise to the current moniker of "the Town That Never Sleeps." During World War I, local farmers produced hay and oats that were turned into flour for local baking recipes; however, this activity stopped shortly before war ended because there were not enough animals available to produce enough flour domestically or abroad. Aftermath of World War I left many veterans without jobs so they took up farming instead providing some much needed employment for their families as well as starting anew on small farms that continued until about 1950 when larger commercial enterprises came into being downtown in what is now known as “The Loop” district associated with BYU and related businesses like Sears Roebuck and Kmart mall complexes today including several high-rise buildings built around freeway access points off State Street adjacent to Brigham Young University–Hawaii Campus serving various demographics while also housing a number of smaller businesses catering primarily to low-income residents who rely on public transportation or carpooling services; see “Ogden: Today’s Economy & Demographics” by Toni Morrison
South Ogden was founded in 1847 by the Mormon pioneers. The town was named for Brigham Young, who had been its first resident. South Ogden became aighamite stronghold during the 1850s, and it remained so until the early 1900s. The town's economy depended on agriculture and ranching until after World War II when it began to prosper as a bedroom community for Salt Lake City.
