The Saratoga Springs Resort Hotel and Spa was built in 1909 by millionaire Andrew Carnegie as one of his largest philanthropic endeavors. It has been owned by his descendants since 1978. Saratoga Springs, Utah is a small town in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 915 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1867 by George A. Smith and named for a spring near Saratoga Springs, New York. Saratoga Springs is one of the oldest towns in Utah and it became a city on May 6, 1907. The village of Saratoga Springs first sprang up on the banks of the Jordan River about two miles east of present-day Saratoga Springs on what was then known as Indianola Creek. George A. Smith had purchased 2,000 acres (800 ha) south ofpresent-day Saratoggo Springs in 1867 from James Waddell and erected a log cabin thereon as his summer home. On July 15, 1868, he organized the First Territorial Legislature at his cabin and introduced resolutions calling for an early rendition of the United States Constitution to be ratified through popular vote before Congress could adjourn for the year; these ideals would later become known as Territory Rights. On October 16th, 1868, three days after territorial elections were held which resulted in Brigham Young becoming president of Deseret News with 54% of the votes cast against him due to fraudulence associated with voting practices during that time period – including secret ballots – Smith convened what would come to be known as "the great meeting" or "First Session" of Territorial Legislature which proceeded without any formal business until November 4th when resolutions were passed authorizingeer Alpheus Swayne (a former captain in Company K US Volunteers who had served alongside General Kit Carson's Expedition) to establish ferry service across Snake River between Nephi and Salt Lake City; this service would inaugurate Crossings into downtown Salt Lake City beginning on December 1st – prior to Mormon settlers arriving starting settlement there officially on January 24th via wagon train arrived from Powell Valley overland route following Santa Fe Trail connecting Provo & Ogden areas)), thus concluding both sessions; On March 3rd 1870George A.Smith sold 1/3 interest in enterprise to Hyrum Mudgett who operated it until its sale again August 20th1871to Majestic Cattle Co., Inc.. This company developed irrigation systems around present day Springdale and other nearby properties irrigating crops such as cotton etc.. In 1902 Jerald Mudgett donated land at Summit Park comprising parts now called Northgate Mall & Centennial Hills neighborhood adjacent Springdale Cemetery making it available for housing development purposes only six years later following city annexation by Cedar Rapids Iowa resulting in incorporation of SARATOGGOS SPRINGS UTAH CITIES CODE § 32-9-202 effective July 1st 1906 pursuant to provisions set forth therein). Finally annexing Cedar Rapids made SARATOGGOS SPRINGS UTAH an enclave within that city limits albeit still considered part of UT territory despite official designation by ordinance dated November 5th 1912 providing: “Saratoga Springs is hereby annexed unto Cedar Rapids” . Today many residents still refer to themselves as residents OF SARATOGO SPRINGS UTAH even though their municipality has since ceased operations . As early as 1869 George A. Smith envisioned creating a community here where people could gather together without fear or intimidation from outside forces like gold Rush fever spreading westward through Utah like wildfire In 1889 David Rice started construction on what is now Northgate Mall adjacent Springdale Cemetery - primarily serving area residents but also accommodating larger retail businesses necessary for growth at that time residences began popping up all around town center soon followed with dairies being built along Main Street just east off I-15 outside today's stadium parking lot referendum results determining name change fromCity Of Saratoggo To Town Of SaratogaSprings resulting in namesake change back to SaratoggoSprings upon annexation by Cedar Rapids IA ..… Economic prosperity brought new subdivisions sprouting up throughout town center while older homes continued being used more exclusively for residential purposes until recently when some are being marketedreeditshaweandmarkhammarketagevelopementforresidentialuseonly
